View Full Version : Evelate Jackson and Flint ?
There is a lot of talk over at the new look carlton web site about rookies. There is a lot of talk on most of the carlton sites about this. There are those that are saying elevate them when ready, yeah yeah we've all heard it before. The point is WHEN are they ready ? Well a lot of the people who go to the magoos each week a failry certain jackson is ready right now. With the injury to Murph things looks hopeful for some new blood on the oval. Flint may not be quite as ready but there is a lot of talk about him being ready as well. And when we consider Pagans promise of only long term prospects being on the list after the break we might see another elevation. There are a lot of stragglers down back and although Pagans faith in DeLuca appears to have paid off not so with Teague.

Out of Flint, Jackson and J.Simth, Jackson is "most ready to play" AFL.
This seems to be the consensus. I Suspect we may hear something this week....;)

Definitely look at bringing Jackson up. He is tough and mentally ready for the rigours of AFL footy, much like Murphy was this year. He is definitely the sort of player that you would know in four or five weeks if he is going to make it at AFL level or not. Give him his chance- if he flunks, he flunks, but we will know for sure.

I'd prefer Carlton to elevate Jackson, Flint, Batson and then Smith in that order, Batson because he's a ruck and we don't need another player like Smith in the seniors.
elevation semantics aside, Pagan actually mentioned the efforts of Aisake. Interesting. I dont think there are many who would consider him ready, but good to hear the top the heap mentioning things like this. Its what keeps us hanging on, the prospects. So lets keep brining them on,.....Jackson and flint sooner rather than later.
Look forward to seeing some of our injured getting a look in as well. (Bower etc).
Geez, there could be a few introductions needed by the time Kouta, Waite, Fish and especially Murph get back.
Just bring in someone for this weekend ... please. Ready or not, I and other supporters don't care, we just want to see new names getting kicks!!!!

Jackson is the obvious first choice for elevation, he should have been on a senior list but the percieved lack of pace hurt him. A guy I know played on him in the VFL reserves earlier this year and said he's actually quicker than he thought. As stated on Jacksons profile his endurance is a key feature to his game. I say elevate him sooner rather than later and throw him straight into the Blues side for a 5 week stint. Give him stints both on HBF and the Wing. From what I have seen, I think he's got what it takes.
The point is WHEN are they ready ?.
When Dennis Pagan says so.
Don't bring them in just for the sake of it, stick to the plan, I don't care about winning this weekend, I only care about winning premierships. Stick to the plan Dennis.

On the Blues website there is an article saying Denis says a few of the rookies are close to elevation.

Close but not ready yet.

Could do with Jackson on a HFF given how tall our forward line is; we need a medium forward.
IN: Jackson
OUT: Houlihan

I'm sorry, but i'd rather see a player like Smith elevated rather than jackson and flint!! I'd go Smith then Flint and the Jackson. Ive seen a few ants games and from the ones ive seen Smith had done a far better job than Flint and as for jackson he didnt stand out at all.

He is (private joke). We can't have two Ryans in the team!
I can't beleive everything has given up on Smith. Ithink he is the best out of the lot of them.

You really dont get it lemmings, the WHOLE point of this post is to not drone on verbatim like parrots (not like Parrot) repeating whatever you hear as if you were the first person to think up the idea of not playing someone before they are ready !! Wow spectacular insight !
As far as your own logic is concerned WHO are you to say these players are NOT ready?
The point is, that these players are ready. Do you really think the only time we can comment on anything regarding this team is when Denis Says its ok. Please. ..........................Drone. Thats what were here for, to call the shots like the back seat drivers we are. Who here hasnt sat at the ground and become an instant expert "Get Kouta off the Bench !" , " put Brownie on him then...he'll sort him out!!". Have you ever heard anyone tell you to WAIT until the coach says he's ready.
Im pretty damn sure that people here who go on about this tripe have had plenty say in contradiction to the coaches, match committee etc in the past, why does this stop short at Rookie elevation. Hypocrits.
Someone here as called for Smith to be elevated. No dramas,.........Smith Flint and bloody Jackson. Go bannanas. Oh, if thats alright with Denis Pagans self appointed spokes person.

I agree with you 100%. Dennis is an experienced coach & knows what he is doing. He knows when or when not players are "Ready". He is going to be our coach for another couple of years, so we just got to have confidence in whatever he does?

Right so I takje it we wont be hearing your opinion on the team from now on, just take what ever Denis says as Gospel and offer no opinion. Join the lemmings.

feel free to check my record. could be an offender, but it wouldn't be often.
there's no one on this board more equiped to deliver a prmiership than Denis Pagan is. I understand that different people have different views and it's great to have a chance to express them. I've expressed mine without crapping all over my fellow supporters.

good to see you get my point then.
