Richo to play, Tredrea not.

White to kick one goal and go ever so close on at least two other occasions.

Ebert and Motlop two goals each. Mahoney a lazy four.

Adam Thomson to get extra game time and win a Rising Star nomination.

A see-sawing tightly fought game in the first half then we get on top in the 3rd Q. Richmond to fight back a bit and Port to win by 4 goals-ish.

im prediciting us to go down by 4 goals... Richmond will tag everyone and flood and make it the most boring game in the world to watch

Tend to agree.

Very very nervous about this one.

Could easily go down. Allthough we have had the wood over Richmond at home, they are playing a very different style of footy. The type of midfield strangulation/flooding footy that we have traditionally struggled with (Collingwood, Kangas).

My Predictions;

Krak - Does 10 things. Two good things. No impact.
Pettifer - kicks 3, gives someone a really intense stare whilst trying to be tough. Gives away 5 free kicks
Richo - Late inclusion, plays too far up the ground and only kicks one goal. Misses a sitter.
K.Johnson - 20 useless possessions, but completely kills salopek. He is their K.Cornes.
Brown - Ouch. This guy could kill us. 5 Goals.
Tambling - No impact
Simmonds – Rises to the challenge and has a blinder. Kicks 3 goals and has the better of Brogan and Lade
Raines - Plays on Pearce, gets made a fool of. NAB to Pearcey!

JB – Workload starts to catch up on him but is still our best.
Lade - has another quiet 'ish game.
Pearce – 25 good solid possessions 1 amazing goal
Treddas – Struggles because of knees, still kicks a couple. Has similar game to the St. Kilda one
Kane – out of it, gets 20 pointless kicks. again.
White – Has a great game, could be our gamebreaker. Tig's dont have any tall backs and Gaspar will play on treddas. Kicks 5.

Conclusion: Port in a thriller.

See-sawing game with Richmond to nudge out Port in the finish. Respect the fact that we are 0-8 against Port at AAMI, but this is a different Richmond under Wallace.

Excellent. :thumbsu:

Our coach needs plenty of practice against teams that flood.

I wish Choco would fall for that one but he's not silly. Your perception is based on one game v Adelaide.

As for boring, Richmond have 4 mark of the year nominations plus 2 for goal of the year. Port - nil and nil.

Richmond only ever flooded against us previously because they thought there was no way they could win. I expect they think they can now.

I dont think Richmond play an excessively defensive game plan. No more than any other club, the Adelaide game was a blip.

But Richmond do, however, congest the corridor and strangle the opposition midfield. Much like Collingwood and the Kangas used to play. Its a gameplan we dont like which is why im nervous.

I think this is a game in which certain of our young'uns can shine. Thomson, Pearce and Surjan should be right in their element in this "congested corridor" situation, and Shaun's burgeoning strength and stability should see us dominate there.

Port by 34+ if we can stop Brown.

He does. Suprising coming from a Richmond supporter.

Someone must've given him a lesson on the wonderful PAFC.

Richmond's backline might worry us:
Joel Bowden will get White I think. This will play into Richmond's hands.
Damon will have the height advantage, but unfortunately that means so little as his hands are not good under any form of pressure, and on the lead, anything he drops they will sweat off and rebound away. In fact, White leading wide to the flanks might be a way of keeping Bowden out of their back half if we can use him as a decoy.

Gaspar will be too tight for Tredrea who is lacking match fitness.

Kellaway is in very good form as is Patrick Bowden.

At the other end of the ground, we don't have in form matchups for all of Brown, Pettifer and Krakoeur. Wilbur must lift for this game - he has to help Surjan and Symes out more than he did against Melbourne.

Simmonds v Lade will decide the game IMO. If Simmonds has the sort of game that White had against us last week, we could lose alot of the drive from stoppages that saw us win those consecutive games.

My prediction is a Port win based purely on home ground advantage. If the game was being played at MCG or Telstra, I think the Tigers would beat us much the way Melbourne did.
They look classier in defence and their smaller forwards are capable of more than ours. Having said that, if Lade, Pearce and JB can fire, we will get the result.

Port will have to wait 'til 2007 for redemption - at the MCG for once!

You're entitled to have your fun. Your lot thoroughly deserved the win. We were outcoached and outplayed. Terrible display by us. Tiges looked genuine top eight material last night. Well organised and a good work rate.

We got our redemption at the G, it was in 2004.

Unfortunately your mob haven’t been anywhere near it for quarter of a century.

I think you may have even had hair back then… maybe.

How about you look at the record between our two clubs? I don't think we are the ones that have to redeem anything..

Point was that we've only played you 4 times in Melbourne (for a 3-1 record).

You've had us well covered but the worm is turning, my friend. ;)

Please don’t confuse the movement in your lower bowel with this momentary glitch in Port’s dominance over Richmond. The natural order of things shall be restored in the not too distant future.
