The Saints were lucky to scratch out a win against a determined Essendon.
Your kids are definitely improving, and whilst you didn't see the best that St Kilda can produce, I thought there were very good signs for Essendon. With the injured players returning next year and a further preseason into the kids to build them up some, Essendon will be a major improver. Add to that a fairly good quaff at the draft trough and your future looks shiny.

Good luck.

Yeah I was impressed with the way we played in the wet conditions and I give full credit to our inexperienced team. Without our best 3 players of the last 10 years in the likes of Lloyd, Hird and Fletcher. Bringing in Lonergan, Nash, Jolley & Lee (All who debut or have played under 3 games in the seniors)
We saw terrific signs today from our seniors Jason Johnson (41 pos) Campo, Pev all played their best game this year. I was impressed with the way lovett read the ball and how the team worked together.
You made me proud to be an Essendon supporter even if we did lose. We came up against a quality side in the AFL.
We may have lost the battle but it won't be long until the baby bombers win the war.

Great effort by Essendon.

Those are the games that make or break a season and in many ways it was far more important for St Kilda to win that one, than how Essendon played, for had St Kilda dropped it, they would have in many people's mines confirmed to be overrated, Nick was traffic.

It pretty much sums up year with lots of close loses. But plenty of positives came out from it, just looking at the future.

I think St. Kilda like it dry and indoors as much as we used too.

Having a team of youngsters going all out worked in our advantage

Lots of positives from the effort, and I think Fletcher on Gehrig would have made all the difference in the world. Fitness is improving, but we were still struggling at the end, and certainly our handballs needed to be more accurate, even in the wet. But... Bring on the Blues!

Good post mate and well done to the Saints.:thumbsu: Even though I was gutted by another close loss, I have to say I was mighty proud of the Bombers effort on Saturday.

In the end, we lacked something formidable up front all day and Riewoldt was the difference. 8 games 4 goals or less...bitter pill to swallow.
