Bigger question.
Is that the end of Monty?

I wouldn't think so, he's looking at 4-5 weeks, plus maybe a couple with the werribee on the way back. Should be right for finals, where his experience would be invaluable.

Did anyone else see the look on Rockets face at the press conf when asked if he was due to get anyone back in the next week or two?
"5 knees, 2 broken legs, a broken foot - who?" I think was his reply.
The whole group deserves a massive pat on the back for what they have achieved in the face of adversity to date. There's no reason they can't keep going to finish top 4. The Pies are gone, the Swans have had it, the Saints are the only threat.

I hope we can live up to the expectations, something we've never done really well before.
Quick wit from Eade. Gotta love him.

What is this obsession with McGuinness. He was disgraceful last week against North. He was coasting around the wing thinking he was still playing at Werribee trying to pick up the easy possessions while his direct opponent Firrito was busy setting up their first three goals. McGuinness has been on the list for many years, has shown no signs of improvement and will not be seen at AFL level again. Addison and Skipper to play next week. Skipper also needs to show something pretty soon or he too might be in trouble. I t was plain to see today that our skills were down and that we were struggling to spot up our small forwards and that a tall in the goalsquare should have been our plan b. For that reason alone Skipper plays.

I was listening to 3AW at the match. Dipper had a word with Monty on the bench.
Poor Monty was very sad. Today was his 199th game of AFL footy. He was a bit sick and sore because now he's not sure if he'll make the 200th. :(
He reckons it's an identical injury to the one which kept him out for 6 weeks preseason. I've got my toes and fingers crossed that he makes 200. He's done a great job for us this year.

It would be a bad loss for the club but an even bigger one for Monty. I hope for his sake (and ours) that he has a speedy recovery.

.... Brian Royal.
Yep Royal got injured before his 200th and got stuck on 199.

And 299 goals. One of my most vivid memories at WO was him out on the ground on crutches in tears.

Do you think there will be any freidnly banter around the club.
Perhaps the guys calling him choco for a week or two?
Humerous to me, perhaps cruel to him?
So Gia's is only a strain?
Will it be closer to 3 do you guys think?

Some people are obsessed with bagging him.
"Bulldog Kieran McGuinness played yet another solid game, and looms as the likely AFL replacement for Brett Montgomery, who injured his calf in yesterday's win over Carlton."

There comes a point where a guy stops getting chances on the back of good form in the Bees... I'm not saying he's reached that point, but perhaps he has.
How are Birss & Faulkner travelling?

Maybe you're right but doesn't make sense to me. If a guy is capable of regularly being in the best players for the Bees and can get 10 possies in each of his last three games, spread over 18 months, when he is only on the ground for half a game each time I'd say he is being wasted rather than needing to be ignored. BTW he played in defence this week not on the wing.
Shane and Cam had quiet days apparently and with injuries it has been a long time since either played well for the Bees. [Cam was not doing that great before his injury from memory.]

I agree to a point. I don’t think it’s fair on a guy to get one game in, get 20 mins game time and then get dumped… time and time again. Farren Ray got pretty good treatment in terms of time in the team without much to show for it. I haven’t seen a lot of K Mac so can’t comment on his Bee’s form. He’s regularly in the best though so perhaps he just needs a couple of weeks in the Dogs to get up to speed? I don’t know. Perhaps Eade has made his mind up?
All I can say is, if I was a dogs listed player who’d been with the team for 2+ years, and I wasn’t getting a game at the moment, I’d be worried. That goes for all of them, not just K Mac…
