might be a good time for 3 to come up?both divz with 12 would have to be better than a 14 team div 2(given fawkner are going)?

I believe it would be detrimental to promote 3 teams up if Heidleberg go and have 12 teams in Divvy 1. This would mean an uneven draw and potentially having more sides that are barely first division standard playing. This could also mean that a side that would normally finish 3rd or 4th in second divison would then be premiers in Divison 2 and go up to Divison one when they are not really competitive enough.

The call for having a third division with the current amount of sides is also not in the interests of the competition as their are not enough clubs in the league currently.

The Diamond valley and for that matter all suburban leagues should try to have ten sides in each divison playing 18 games to ensure equal draws. This would mean that DV need four new clubs to make three divisions.

Maybe the time is right for Football Victoria, the Western region, Essendon and diamond valley to get together and work out how to solve the problems of these three leagues having 14 - 16 sides in their second divisions. These 40 odd clubs need to be redirected into 4 divisons.

Maybe league boundaries have to be rewritten and clubs directed to another league. Football Victoria could also compensate the leagues who lose clubs/revenue to ensure the clubs left in leagues who loose sides do not suffer financially through higher fees caused by losing clubs.

For example (Just picking clubs for the sake of it) Coburg Districts, North Coburg, Craigieburn and RoxburghPark could easily join the Diamond Valley and this would give the DVFL 30 clubs (assuming all current clubs stay) and there is a 30 team competition with 3 divisons of 10.

The reason the Eastern and Ammos relegation promotion systems work is because you have even numbers in divison and thus even draws.

Awesome call my friend, it seems we in the north west are reluctant to travel though. Why??? I think some clubs are a little confronted with the fact that some form of super league like the Eastern mould would mean they actually have to play gun sides week in and out. Would personally love to watch a Hoppers Crossing Vs Keilor Blockbuster. Basically the Essendon and Western Leagues need to make hard decisions and merge.

The other thing is less jobs for league administrators, gee some hate change!!! Wonder why? The DVFL could pick up the clubs you mentioned with most being in a reasonable radius to you lot.

no, apparently macloed and greensy wil both be coming up. the DVFL constitution states that one side has to always go down no matter what, and it cannot be changed unless members vote for it, which there is not enough time for... lalor wuld beat macloed by 15 goals so to speak and macloed having to come up

agree, i have to say that the DVFL is selfish, with fawkner leaving and not enough emphasise on trying to save them the DVFL could prehaps loan them money to get them out of trouble, open up a 3rd divison and sacrifice itself to help get clubs sponsors.
also, sides like craigieburn and other nearby clubs to that of the DV should be seeked upon to try and join the DVFL to help make a 3rd division, which would make struggling division 2 clubs have success and definately make the competition alot stronger if heidelberg are off.
have a 8 team divisions in both 1-2 and fill the rest up in division 3.

Why would a club like Craigieburn have any interest in going to from EDFL A Grade to DV 3rd Division. DV are kidding themselves if they think any EDFL would want to leave. DV admin is terrible as seen by the number of Div 1 clubs trying to get out. Div 2 footy standard is terrible and not going to improve. Cut the number of strugglers in Div 2, don't add more and call it Div 3.

sorry mate what i tried to say is that they come to the dvfl in the divison they see fit, and therefore one side would go down to the next and so on.. for example if craigieburn played a grade dvfl it would push the team that finished on top of lalor down

what exactly is the reasoning behind heidelberg wanting to join our leauge if they and balwyn do come in that would mean to 3 tigers in the one comp two in the same division which creats another headache
