Good win to the Lions last night. I was just amazed how Keating controlled the game, similar to the grand finals.

He doesn't get a lot of stats, however when he continually pumps the ball forward 20 metres, that puts so much pressure on the opposition defence.

I think when fit, the Lions have the best depth of ruckmen in the AFL. You sold a pup to Carlton. How good was that ???

If you don't want Keating, we'll take him at Punt Rd!

We didn't get anything for Dylan.

yeh he went into the PSD didnt he?
Hes not really tall enough to be a legitimate ruckman anyway, so i doubt we could have got anything above pick 50 for him.

Yeah. Keating reminded me how great he is, but I would say he's a bash and crash belt it forward as far as you can ruckman rather than a tap ruckman.

That's where he is so effective, so damaging. I had written him off before last night. But I think if he can stay fit, Brisbane should offer him a 1 year deal.

To think you have Keating, Charman & McDonald on your list. Pretty awesome ruck strength.

I think some one on this board said that they had heard an interview with him and he stated that he was playing for his career. But one more year should be a good deal for the Lions as it allows the flexabilty of Charmen going forward.

Agreed, was fantastic on sat'dy. Watched reply today, thought he looked a little 'soft' when he ran out...but he hasn't changed a bit it seems. Was wondering how much of the game he could play but was there at the end when needed while Charman was winning us the game up forward.

Reminded me of the old days in the 3rd quarter when the midfielders knew that Crackers would just bash it forward as far as he could.
Great to see the old combo back in action, made me realize how much we DO need 2 good ruckman on the field.

Didn't we? He's not on our list anymore - isn't that reward enough?

Actually I feel guilty saying that as he always gave 100% and is good bloke to boot.

I always though Crackers was more of a "thump" ruckman....

Agreed, but he did also do some great tapwork against the hawks.

I think we tend to be a little harsh on Dylan, I thought he was improving a heap when he was in the side and turning into a quality ruckman and he did give his best for the club...I don't think the move to Carlton has helped his game and he really could of improved more under the wing of Rehn.

But I do agree with Beau coming back (heh, ironic) and Wood in the side, we couldn't fit in a 5th ruckman on the squad.
