Anyone else see the ads for htis tihng last night, it's a god damned cartoon chat show host. Hoorah - two months of crap advertising with even worse jokes, and we find out it's a cartoon?
WTF?
Does it even look remotely funny? More importantly, can it please replace Rove permanently?

I actually didnt find the jokes to bad, lighten up.
While enduring the painful big brother final, whilst being subjected to the horrendous Yasmin is getting married commercials, then they reveal that crap. They couldnt even make the lips move in synch and it it looks ridiculous. Half the pop culture jokes they used were old six months ago.

Well this is only the tip of the iceberg. I am predicting that in 2 years time all we will see on free to air tv is american reject shows, thus killing of local production which has already happened.
Since when did it matter so much what 10-18 year olds watch on tv anyway. Everything these days is catered for that market group b/c in reality adults are not stupid and easy to please.
Please somebody can we stop catering for this market, it seems evrything is for the teens. No wonder they are a bunch of self gratifying selfish little knobs, like what-ever.

They matter because they're trend conscious and will follow advertisements like sheep. Teenagers and young adults are the crucial marketing demographic. (That's why neither 7 or 10 give a toss if Channel 9 consistently win the over-55s in the ratings - it's the young 'uns that matter)

I understand that and why a channel just for them is needed. I know thats why Ch 10 are aiming for BUT amongst all their junk food tv is some gems.

We don't really suffer - not like we would have, say, 10 years ago. Now we have webcasting, DVDs, digital and satellite TV etc all in competition with terrestrial TV. If we don't like the way the commercial channels program, we can watch things at our own pace; we keep the gems but dump the rest.
Besides, if the stations can weasel this money from the teenagers, good luck to them. If people are dumb enough to want Crazy Frog ringtones, Big Brother updates and to be able to ring into stupifying late night quiz shows, then let them. Fools and their money are easily parted.

True but sometimes i couldnt be stuffed downloading stuff or even watching things from my computer and would rather just sit in my loungeroom and relax.
At least 10 years ago we didn't have the amount of junk on tv to just squeeze $$$ out of people. Like the late night quiz shows. The only purpose in them is to make a load of money from people ringing up and thats about it. Very cheap to produce for a nice tunr over for the stations.

the problem was giving children too many rights - if we could just beat them senseless when they disobeyed or looked at us funny things would go back to normal.

The show is apparently the mastermind of Andrew Denton. That means it will be better than the Wedge.

Did anyone else notice that the first few ads (some of those ones with quotes) had his name as David Dench? Not sure if it was a mistake or if the name was changed. May have something to do with former North player David Dench who's been in court a bit lately for some dodgy dealings at Vic Uni.
