Four critical injuries that would have had our hearts in our mouths this season...
Chris Judd - missed a few weeks. Bit of time to refresh and play into match form before the finals rolled around.
Dean Cox - Same as above, plus allowed for more game time for Seaby. Two quality in-form ruckmen will be handy come September.
Adam Hunter - Again, can come back refreshed. Also has given Jaymie Graham more responsibility at CHB.
Mark Nicoski - Has been adequately covered with Wirrpanda returning to a bit more form, Waters offering some drive off half back and Selwood taking over the hard tag on the opposition's number one small forward. Also, gets a bit of a rest.
With Sampi returning to the side and to form, Chicky looking "less knackered" after having a week off recently and returning to the backline, and the midfield back and firing, things are falling into place pretty well.
Let's hope things continue and the intensity is maintained for the next 7 games! :thumbsu:

Theres just one real propblem though, and that is who from the current 'on form' squad will we drop after these players come back? I know Cox coming in this week will propably replace RoJo, but what about Hunter and Nicoski? I would hate to see Sampi or SA be the ones to go, because we have seen how much we need small forwards and how much the have lifted the side. I guess more competition for spots would mean better quality performances, but still, i would hate to see the wrong people dropped.

The manner in which the club and players have responded to adverse situations is to be commended.
One of the contributing reasons why I truly believe out team is a better unit than last year.
Everyone is showing the required level or professionalism and committment that any fan can ask for. I could not be happier at the moment.
The next step is to continue this approach into September. We are most definately in a great position to cease the day.

I also think resting Cousins was an extremely smart, if necessary move.

The Cox injury has been the main one.
Seaby was struggling due to lack of game time which was holding back his development this year IMO.
The extra responsibilty of late has really turned his season around and his ruck taps have been sensational at times.
And haven't the 3 Amigo's and Co enjoyed the service in the last 2 weeks :D

Injuries are never a blessing in disguise, (unless of course Michael Gardiner, Brent Staker and Travis Gaspar had fallen down the stairs on the way to the team bus for the GF last year), but it has been great to see the lesser lights stand up when required, they've just got to keep it up now.
For weeks too much was left to too few. If we want the flag this year, its got to be a full team effort.

good post...and I agree you here coaches say it when someone is injured "oh well it gives someone else an oppurtunity to step up"...I used to think it was mdeia talk but thru injury lies oppurtunity
Thru adversity lies opportunity is a quote I have sen lots and love it
