Looks like it might be a tight vote count this year.

Alan Didak and Josh Fraser would be close to favorites this year, with James Clement and Dane Swan a whisker behind them. I also would not write off Presti (luckily with Collingwoods voting style, stats dont matter!!!) , Johnson, or of course Buckley. O'Bree and Lonie have also had good years, and while I dont think they'll win they should poll well.

Thomas a shoo-in for first year player. He might also win the Millane medal for most courageous!

Thoughts?

Didak for me!!!!!!! He's fantastic!!!!!!! :thumbsu: Looking forward to he's next couple of years for the pies........... Swan, Clement, Fraser and even H.Shaw not far too behind.........

First year - Daisy.......

I think Heath Shaw will go very close. Dids, Josh, Swanny, Jimmy and Johnno to fight out the other top five possies.

If Lonie or O'Bree get anywhere near the top 5, it is a disgrace!

I think Clement has already written his acceptance speech...

Didak, Fraser, Swan, H Shaw to round out the top five.

Daisy best first year player.

Maxwell to win the Millane Trophy.

Seems we all agree on the top 5.

I think it's between Swan and Johnson for the top spot.

I reckon Johnson will win the Copeland.
Had an outstanding start to the year & will hold off the likes of Clement,Heath Shaw,Didak & Fraser in the run home.

Swan, Johnson and Didak to round out the top three...
Prediction: Dane Swan. He has turned himself into a midfielder overnight. It just shows you can never underestimate the grinding work done in the pre season.

I actually think Heath Shaw has been the most consistent.

I would love for Swan to win it. Would be a great story I reckon.

I should have made it a poll. EVerybodys got a different opinion.

Get over the whole O'Bree thing.

Top 5 will be made up of Didak,Fraser,Clement,Swan,Shaw. Although Presti could sneak in.

But its near impossible to pick a winner. Hope Fraser wins it though.

Heath Shaw for me. Itll be great for a player who hasnt won it before to actually win it this year!

Hard to pick the winner, let alone the order of the top 5, but my predictions are:

1st - Alan Didak
2nd - Dane Swan
3rd - Heath Shaw
4th - Josh Fraser
5th - James Clement
6th - Nathan Buckley
7th - Ben Johnson
8th - Simon Prestigiacomo
9th - Shane O'Bree
10th - Tarkyn Lockyer

The top 7 will be decided by very little votes, meaning, Johnson is very capable indeed in being crowned.

Here's the top 5 MVP votes so far:

1. Alan Didak: 338
2. Dane Swan: 323
3. Ben Johnson: 322
4. Heath Shaw: 257
5. Nathan Buckley: 255

With the Copeland voting system I think the top 5 would be different and may include Fraser, O'Bree and Presti.

johnson for mine. I reckon he has been just about our most consistant and consistancy is a big factor. I think he also leads our possies and for a guy who carries the ball and breaks the lines this makes him possibly our most important onballer/running defender.

But swan, fraser and shaw will all be very close i reckon.

Didak has been as important as anyone but being on the hff flank and only getting about 15 possies per game may mean he does not get as many votes.

1. Didak
2. H Shaw
3. B Johnson
4. Swan
5. Clement
6. Buckley
7. Fraser
8. O'Bree
9. Presti

I'd quibble with the order of the top five, but the composition looks about right to me.

Have been overseas all year but seen most of our wins on dvd. I would be astonished if Didak does not win our Copeland trophy. He should make All Australian and is a smoky for the brownlow if he can have a strong finish to the season imo.
