Ex swannie, Wade Chapman after suffering from injury and poor form when he left the Swans to join Port Adelaide, has been recruited to play in the GVFL for next year.

He joins ex Fitzroy defender, Simon Hawking at Mooroopna (who have finished in the bottom three in the Goulburn Valley League for eight years) where he'll be a playing assistant coach, and will have a coaching and administration role with the GVFL, teaching primary school children in the district the finer points of the game, and working in the GVFL's offices in Shepparton.

Thanks Wayde for keeping us up to date. I think all Swans fans wish Wade Chapman well as he looked set to have a long career but was absolutely cursed by the injury gods.

I don't think young Wade was suffering poor form - he rarely played a bad game for the Swans. It was just the injuries that cut him down. Had he managed to stay fit he would have been a super player - just watch any game from 96 (other than the GF, perhaps) to see how good he was.

It was a shame with his injuries that he could rarely get onto the park, he was a great player who played with great passion. Hope all goes well for him in the future.
