View Full Version : New Leaders

DEES RULE!

As it stands now our team leaders are:

Captain: David Neitz
Vice Captain: Shane Woewodin
Deputies: Andrew Leoncelli and Jeff White

So my question is if you could change that would you? who would you put as captain as vice and as deputies and why?

If I could change that I defenetly would.
I would have it like this:

Captain: Jeff White- honestly I can't think of anyone else to put as captain. Oxy is too old and Yze is too private and well Chell is too old as well.... I just don't know who to put as captain. I don't know how good Whitey is with the media and all the detuies of being a captain but he is a great player and he is a good leader and giving him a go can only be benaficial for his career.
Vice Captain: Adem Yze- The only reason I didn't put him as captain is because he is a very private person and he wouldn't really enjoy the whole full captain thing. He is a great player, a great role model for the young players and deserves the possition in my opinion
Deputies: Brad Green- the boy has a lot of potential to be a great player, in 6 years time he could very well be captain so why not give him some practice now?

So there you have it..... what do you think?
Russell Robertson- I'm not being baised here. He will never be captain because he is not a good enough player at the moment BUT he does a hell of a lot of publicity and media work for the club. He won the media award this year and he is really good with the fans.

I think thats fine the way it is. see no need to change it. well maybe Whitey to vice and woey to deputy. But Woey, Chell and Whitey need to do more media work. u just dont see enough of them, especially the later 2.

I don't see any reason to change your leaders, but why is Chell too old? 27! Craig Bradley became Carlton captain at 33.

Neale wants long term captains. Hence the reason Neitzy came captain at 25 and Schwarta wasnt mad captain then, cos he was 3 years older and was only expected to play a season or 2 more.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with our captains at the moment BUT if you could change and it is bound to change sooner or later........ who would you like to see in the captain, vice and deputies seats?

Fair enough, but I would think Leoncelli as a 27 year old onballer has as many years in him as Neitz as a 25 year old key position player.

Not that I think Leoncelli should be captain, just that age seems a strange reason to rule him out.

Well there are other reasons why Leoncelli is not captain and those reasons have nothing to do with age. Same with Oxy, he isn't captain coz he gives us bad publicity.... lol but he is a still a legend! :D

I have no problem with Neitz being captain. I do think Woey is Captain material. Schwarz is no good, he has a big mouth.

I have no problems with who we have now, maybe White as Neitz's replacement in the future.

I wouldve given Schwarz the job as captain before Nietz.
When your picking captains, you should be looking for leadership qualities first and foremost. Schwarz has them all while Nietz looks like he struggles a bit in that department.

At the moment, the only other player on our list apart from Schwarz that looks like captain material is Shane Woewodin. Im sure he'll be the next to take over when Nietas done.

Anyway, back to the main question, I dont think Id change it right now, but I wouldve made Schwarta captain if I had the choice back in 2000. Then when he retired he couldve passed it on to Woey.

Deesrule - What makes you say Jeff White? Personally, I think he would struggle.

Perhaps the reason why we have never won a Premiership for 40 years is because we have had quiet, conservative types as Captains:D Have you ever thought of that.:D

Myself I like gregarious people, they usually play with passion and the supporters (most;) ) usually love them like the Ox and the Wiz.

Neitz is not a good Captain...the Ox would have been much better - he presents himself well in the media, plays with passion and flair and I love his BIG MOUTH:p

However, has anyone thought of Peter Walsh as Captain material...I would back him.;)

Cheers

The Ox is good in the media, but he says what he thinks TOO OFTEN. Some things are better left not said, but he will say it!
Walshy: Not a bad suggestion.

before reading all ya replies, i thought there should be a few changes to the captain co. i thought too that walshy should be brought in there somewhere, but i wasn't sure where...
however, after reading all ya replies and stuff - i reckon its fine juuuuust the way it is!! after having gone to a million and 1 training sessions and matches and functions (not nessaserally demons official ones) i've noticed that neita, woey, whitey and chell aren't really treated any diff to the rest of the players. down at demonland most of the players are treated diff, and i like just the way it is!!
perhaps in the next couple of yrs woey could become captain ;) but not right now... i like it at the moment :D

GO DEES!!!

too true!! aswell as that, he's been deputy for a yr now, and although that doesn't include all that much, he still gets the title. so i reckon some day he could take the step up

So even when you thought Neita was the best thing since sliced bread, you still wanted big mouth Ox to be captain?
