View Full Version : The leadership group has to stand up this week

This is one of the few times this year they have all been named in the side, and if ever we have needed them it is now. Late in the season, crunch game against a red hot Swans outfit, sounds familiar?

Last year we were beaten comprehensively with Neita the only current player in the leadership group who could hold his head high after that game.
I may be digging myself a hole by saying this and I probably am, but have faith people. We will win this week. Unlike the terrible turnout we had last week, actually get out and support the boys because they will need it. If you have other commitments fair enough, but try as hard as you can to get down there.

GO THE *%&ING DEES!

f*** is this match huge or what!! lose this and say goodbye 2006, i am a bit nervous about the changes, tj being out is obviously going to really affect us though we are able to cover him in the midfield with jmac brock and for f***s sake daniher put bruce in the midfield!

Just for those interested:

Melbourne is 26 from 33 at the MCG since 2004, including 9 from 9 this year.

However, we haven't beaten Sydney in Melbourne since 2001.

All of them are playing minus Robbo.

Neitz needs to kick at least 5 for us to be a show, Green needs to lift after last week, Bruce is carrying an injury and may not play yet, and Frosty needs to keep Hall to 3 goals or less.

If they do that, then they have stood up when needed. VERY big test.

Yep, understatement of the century there.

If the leadership group dont stand up, we're as good as finished

Because Daniher wasn't thinking of the game. He was too busy worrying about getting his notes together to commentate tonights Tiges vs Lions game.
Whilst I'm on that, why the hell is daniher commentating? Already acting as if he's been sacked. FFS, Neale, focus 1 on Melbourne, and ONLY MELBOURNE. Worry about your media career once you've left us.

Yeah I remember he was doing special comments on Triple M a game on Saturday last week and the next day we lost to Carlton...I can see where you're coming from Marns. He needs to keep his mind on the job, you wouldn't see a Craig, Worsfold or Roos doing that sort of stuff

Exactly. And to be doing it last week BEFORE the game is quite ridiculous. Must send a great message to the players.

No wonder we're losing... he must be getting coaching tips from the tools in the commentry box.

Our leadership today was shizen. Apart from Neita, who as usual battled all day with 5 defenders, and kicked 4 and took some good marks, the rest of them were terrible.
Adem Yze in particular was crap. Any chance he'll stop being a soft down-hill skier at this stage of his career?
