Hahah, should be good for a laugh , particularly the "celebrity" bit. We have celebs out here ? Apparently "celebrity witch" Fiona Horne plays like an utter ****. I won`t be able to help myself I`ll be watching.

When did Australian TV and celebrity go together, they will probably be as well known celebrities as those who get to perform at the before game and half time shows at the grand final, only the TV networks will know who they are or really care.:cool:

im not a fan of survivor full stop, but watched 10 mins of this. did the US version allow for raincoats?
to me it looks poor. maybe its cause we know its an aussie product? how does this compare to the US version?

Us version owns it, but a lot of that is because everyone is used to it and the format/host etc. The US version doesnt allow for raincoats either. But genarelly the US version will always be better, This season will turn out ****, but it looks like it will fair better than The season of Australia survivor a few years back. Plus its Australian which ultimately makes it **** TV.

It's poor, the production value is very low (from the 10 minutes i watched).
I guess Warney's missus was busy, and Dieter Brummer and Dougie the Pizza guy were in jail. :D

There was one bright moment for me when one of the female team said something like "We're getting so hungry we're going to start eating each other".
I kept watching but nothing eventuated.
Other than that it came across as the "Snakes on a plane" of reality television.

The US version is great. You go in knowing very little about the people, and enjoy this mish mash of different characters interacting with each other and their surroundings. It's great watching people build alliances then destroy them, and then the mindgames and backstabbing that go on are great.
With each episode covering 3 days, and only being aired once a week you don't get the over saturation Big Brother style.
On a Celebrity show you will never get characters like Rupert (Survivor VII Pearl Island) who started off selling rivals shoes or Shane (Survivor XII Exile Island) who stopped smoking the day of going onto the island.
I don't really care how long the American Survivor goes for, but I'd be glad if Australian TV Execs stopped creating ****-poor knockoffs of their overseas counterparts.

I hadn't watched it at all and just caught the last 10 minutes last night, and my god - that Gabrielle Richens is so HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Surely 7 execs saw the mess 9 made of the first local survivor.
This is just as bad and probably less compelling because they are celebrities.
The real Survivor spends millions and millions to ensure they select the right people and footage so that the stuff we see is entertaining. They don't get that without the right people it is just not interesting... it is just a cheap rip off.

Don't know why I've been watching this (Richen's rack was obviously a sticking point, and possibly the fact it follows on from Earl, and I'm too much of a lazy bugger to change the channel), but I'm only hanging on to see if there's any excitement in it (ie Imogen fall out of her top). Probably the only time I've wanted a chick to win one of these reality show deals. Not a fan of letting a past loser back into it. And I'll keep having a look as long as Immy's there.

Nicole had that coming... bad move girls to shaft David. Nicole was the obvious target, biggest threat in a jury vote situation.
The girls have to feel pretty ripped off, given that the guys had a week to freshen up and regain their strength.
All up I think 7 have done a good job with this series. Didn't think I would enjoy it much, but have been pleasantly surprised. Couldn't believe how friggen dumb Kym Johnson was though.
Much better than 9's local equivalent, what a absolute disgrace. Only good bit was watching the last episode where the ex-athlete went completely troppo when told she wouldn't win.

I enjoyed it up until a couple of weeks ago. No person who has been voted out should be able to come back in. It just makes a farce of the whole thing. I hope Imogen wins because neither of the other two deserve to.:thumbsd:

Justin stuffed it up. If he taken Imogen he would have won. He had David and Gabrielle. Imogen had Nat. He only needed Guy or the Rugby guy to vote for him and he would have won.

No Imogen voted for Justin, just watched my recording to confirm. Confusing, given they had a major falling out about the bribery issue.
Imogen had a major issue with the guys all the way through the show. Her success as a model involves guys drooling over her, maybe she just doesn't trust men.
David simply didn't like being made to look like a fool by the girls. He should have seen it coming, Guy had no other choice.
