View Full Version : Current Brownlow Odds for Crows Players
Here are the latest UNITAB odds for Crows players in the 2006 Brownlow Medal. Seeing that we have won so many games, it is somewhat surprising there are so few hopes.

VB decides when he wins the Brownlow - not umpires......
btw - Edwards might be worth 10 each way...;)

Wouldn't mind a piece of McLeod or Johncock to get a place. They're the sort of players that will catch an umpires eye and they've been getting a heap of the ball.
Mcleod top 3 looks decent IMHO

I don't think it's "surprising" that we have so few hopes - look down that list and try and pcik someone apart from the top few, who have had genuinely outstanding individual seasons - of the "lots of Brownlow votes" variety, that is. It has been a team effort.
I don't think there's any value in that list for a Win bet - Goody is the only realistic chance and at $4 is way too short when you look at a field including players like Judd etc. (whoops, nearly said "and Kerr" :p )
I agree that Edwards is value at $26, he has had another good year, and last year he seemed to break his drought of not getting Brownlow votes (prior to last year he had very, very few career votes). But still a smokey.
Edwards and Johncock are good Place bets. I have my doubts about McLeod, somehow I don't see his season as having been good enough (as in "attract votes from the umpires") to attract a top 3 place.
But hey - when you've won as many games as we have, as well as we have, you know the other mob's not going to steal votes from our players. Close results often mean a 1 or 2 vote goes to an opposition player. Won't happen to Adelaide this year, which may boost our chances of a place at least.

Edwards to win it I reckon.

Edwards $7.25 for a place and McLeod $21 for a place are the standouts.
Edwards polled so well last year and IMO, he has had more eye-catching performances this year. McLeod has always polled well and with him carrying the ball so far this year he will definitely be up there.
Maybe I'm biased because he is my favourite player but Graham "Stiffy" Johncock has had an outstanding year and should poll well. His run from the backlines is sure to attract a few votes. Whether he gets enough to win or place remains to be seen but I'm just happy he is still in the running for the Medal after last week's incident with Brodie Holland. Fortunately Rucci isn't on the Match Review Panel!

The one that jumped out for me was Edwards, as others have said.
Sure he's not as 'sexy' as some of the other names in our lineup, but he's always under the nose of the umps.

Could be tempted to put money on Edwards for a place.

McLeod's still the better odds IMO.
Remember 2003 I think it was, when he only played 6 good games for the year and polled 18 votes. Could have used a few of those undeserved ones in '01.
I had $10 on pretty much the whole team pre season.
most odds have stayed the same and some have blown out.
Agree that Macca is the best chance and good odds out of that group.
Away from the Crows I put $50 on Hasleby,k cornes, watson and kouta.
so thats $500 down the drain, again.

$50 on kouta? Dude...
$50 on kouta? Dude...
Yeah, Jobe and Kouta were both 1001 to 1 and i got a bit exited while at the pub that day.
Jokes aside Kouta has the talent and a standout player in a loosing side often gets votes, hence watson also.
Algouth I once lost $500 on Ratten also, a couple of hundred on A Jarman.
Did very nicley on Aka in 01, collected $2.5K

Burton & Roo being ineligible would have been in our top-4, if they hadn't been suspended

Edwards was robbed last year. Didn't poll any votes in round 21 or 22 wins when he should have IMO. Good value for him and stiffy.
