With Melbourne losing today, it's pretty much impossible for the Crows to miss a top-two spot now.
It'll be interesting to see how the club handles the next few weeks now that a home final in the first week is basically guaranteed.
Do they back off, go flat out, try a few new things, try a few new players, rest players? All of the above? None of the above?

Keep it as is.
Great to have that all sewn up but important not to flirt with our form. Obviously, Coasters and Sydney are our main opposition..

Interesting it is.
West Coast have the wood on us,we have the wood on Sydney and the house of pain is the only reason Sydney dont have the wood on west Coast.
Look to introduce and give game time to the squad of 25 you feel is going to win you the flag. Dont worry about kids, dont worry about playing Johncock in the forward lines etc

I'm not sure Sydney don't have the wood over us. When we play them in Sydney they tend to belt us, and when they play us over here it's always a nailbiter. It's funny though as you say,
Eagles>Crows
Crows>Sydney
Sydney>Eagles
Rock, paper, scissors anyone?

I know this is irrelevant but that scenario reminds me of the 1973 VFL finals series, during the year Richmond had the wood on North Melbourne, Hawthorn over Richmond and North over Hawthorn. During the finals the pattern continued however Hawthorn never got the chance to met Richmond in a final coz they couldn't get over North but in both finals between Richmond and North, the Tigers won them comfortably. Quite amazing how this sometimes works.

They got a home final in week 1 last year and still didnt make the grand final. they need to step up their claims for a grand final spot NOW ASAP. I'd give a few senior players next week off, make wholesale changes, 6 changes to the starting line up and bring them all back in round 21.

We go flat out and get back into form with a settled combination.

Home final is far from sewn up after today not justb the loss but we are a long way from flicking a switch and getting back on track

Do not rest players nor should we flirt with form. We need to get all our key finals players on the park! No time to introduce new players into the side. We need a settled combination of players who understand their role leading up the finals

I'd like us to get back into form and send an ominus warning to everyone else going into the finals.

This is reminding me of Chicken Little - the sky is falling in.
Probability is very small and Sydney, Melbourne, Saints and Fremantle can only equal us with the number of wins and due to our % break on the rest of the field, it would require us to lose the next 3 games by a collective 150 points and for either of those sides to win by a collective 150 points but we play the Dees, Saints play Freo and Sydney probably has the ability to do it but I can't see us losing the next 3 games and if we do, we don't deserve a top two spot.

Yep & I'm not too fussed if the Weagles run-over us for top spot at the end minor round (like we did to them last year).

Well, the Crows would have to lose their next three matches by about 10 goals each - and Sydney would have to win their next three matches by about 10 goals - for Adelaide to miss a top-two spot.
They'll finish second - at least - and have a home final in the first week.

I will be happy with first or second.
As soon as finals rolls around and we are in the top 2, the previous 22 weeks can be forgotten.
Good thing about finals :)
