Been very good for last 3 weeks. Will be vital cog come September.

His body on body work around the ball is awesome.

Can't count the number of times he's got his body in a better position in a 50/50 ground contest and managed to get a good handball out.

:thumbsu:

He must be playing his best footy for us now :)

I personally would rest Chick this week as I think we can beat Brisbane without his toughness around the footy we have BEAU.

he might get done with that hit on sinclair that gave away the 50, i hope not.

can crunch imposing players like the massive 75 kilo swallow and the 80 kilo sinclair, but he ****s his pants at the sight of anyone a little bigger then him, his courage is greatly exaggerated

Chick is a beauty. All players should be applying to pressure and grunt that he does, will be VITAL come September. One of the few things Bunsen and I agree with. Swallow is a skinny kid by the way, by no means imposing, although he's got courage at a young age

Biggie
13 Aug 2006, 17:03
Who cares if Swallow/Sinclair is skinny anyway?

He was picked to play AFL and he of all people would understand that "welcome to the league" hip and shoulder was always on the cards.

Thinking back to when Chick was picked up by the Eagles I expected him to be a a goal scoring semi-small forward.

As it happens, he's probably the toughest nut - along with Kerr and Waters - that we have. At either end, he provides a contest and you can bank on him being hard at the ball.

Possibly recruited for a different role but he's become a vital ingredient doing what he does. Amongst the first picked each week.

gotta love chicky, hes one of those characters you need at the club. hard, uncomprimising and someone with only 9 and a half fingers, no other club has that!

You still miss him don't you:)

There is no player in the Hawks side that has as much courage as Chicky...

I think that he will get done this week unless he gets a discount for pleading guilty.

Don't be silly MAG, Hawthorn wouldn't want him, they've got tough nuts like Richie Vandenberg.

Courageous elbows to the throat anyone?

Gotta love Chicky! He played very well yesterday and made my votes. His toughness and work ethic is second to none and will be super important come finals.

ooohh that is so rank...

Anyway does anyone know how many games he has played for the Eagles?

The crap telstra maintained WCE site does not detail how many games players have played for the club and EFH only lists his overal games (227). I thnk he played 149 for the Hawks but am not sure.

Irrelevant anyway, since his ex-wife took their son and went to live in the US. It's not like we'll get any father-son benefit anyway :(

(I will though admit that Cambell Brown is a tough bastard though.)

Point well taken, but do we really want to wait another two decades for the fruit of his loins to come through?

Well yes it is sometime away, however as football becomes more and more competative recruiting wise Father and Son picks become more and more important. Given this I think that long term forsight is very important to ensure that excellent future fingers do not slip thorough our hands as this would effect the long term success of our club. Especially when you consider that players such as Cousins, Mcintosh and to a lesser extent Morton were father son picks for us in the past.
