Noticed Andrew Jarman said there's a SA-based AFL player who has been seen out on the sauce pretty much every Wednesday night. He said they were a key-position player, but that was about it.

I've seen Motlop out and about a few times ... but he's not a KPP.

Any idea who he's referring to?

You see quite a few different players out and about, for the most part there is not any issues. Well now that Choppy has gone for us we have Motlop trying to fill that void.:)

The Crows players I see the most are generally Ben Rutten at the Lion, who I've never seen do anything wrong apart from wearing a pink shirt.;) Ken McGregor I still see quite a bit at the Ed from time to time but never anything more than a couple of quite beers to be honest so Jars I take it could not be referring to him.

I havent seen the article from Jars, is the reference the player is drinking a lot? Or just perhaps should not be out and about?

No idea, here's a list of players I've seen out: VB, McGregor (may be him considering his form), Johncock (was slaughtered), Doughty, Motlop, Bock, Porps, and I've seen other but thats all I can think of now.
My mate's brother plays for the Crows and him and my other mate went out partying with his bro, Bodey and Rutten and didn't invite me... Damn them.

It's not professional and basically you're letting your mates down. As a key-position player, you should be working harder on the track instead of socialising".

If a player is having as couple of beers is it a huge issue? Working harder on the track, dare I say 10 or 11 at night, might be pretty lonely out there at training.:p

For all Jars knows this bloke might be busting his gutz on the track every session, might go out one night for a couple of beers with firends. It is a fine line, but there allowed to have lives as well.

Provided you dont get yourself boozed and whatnot. But are they expected to go straight from training and lock themselves up in their room at home.

For Jarman to be bothered to single out a player, you get the impression there's a bit more to it than a "few beers". He knows as well as anyone that they're entitled to a life away from football.

Jarman does seem to like to blow things out of proportion these days - its all about his media profile.

It's the first time he's bothered to mention off-field stuff like this, though. You'd think there could be something to it.

Wonder if it's the same player that enjoys a joint at parties too?? Players need to relax but they should know that they are seen as role models by/to others.

Totally agree.
