Have to give credit to our mate Rooch at the after match press confrenece
he asked Craigy have we dropped back to the pack or has the pack caught us?

I would say we have dropped back and a freshen up will see us ok again

Couldn't this have gone in possibly one of the other 18 threads?

Couldn't this have gone in possibly one of the other 18 threads?Only if it turns out to be all about Rucci, instead of the question, eh? ;)

Challenge to the Board: The question is "Have we dropped back to the pack or has the pack caught us?"

Discuss. Without character assassination :)

Though it's a cop-out, I'd answer the same as Craig - a bit of both.

Though it's a cop-out, I'd answer the same as Craig - a bit of both.I don't think it's a cop-out, it's probably the right answer.

In their own ways Collingwood and Freo have shown how to take the game up to us (I don't count West Coast because that was just pure class on their part) so anyone who can emulate those two teams can "catch up with us".

By the same token we have been average for the last 3 weeks.

The difference, and the comfort factor is - they (the opposition) can probably do no more, but we can get back to where we were. Let's hope we do.

I actually thought it was a VERY VERY good question followed by a "cop out" answer. Definetly gets credit from me for asking the right question on this occasion.

More importantly it was a fair question, and one that had to be asked.

I don't think the answer was a cop-out Stiffy as IMO it is a bit of both. Teams have worked out a method to combat us, which is to take us on head on, while our last month of footy has been sub-par.

I guess my cop out is we wont really know until the end of the year.

I guess if pressed I will offer that after 15 weeks all teams had played each other. This then allowed those 7 teams who were going to play the Crows a good look at our game plan/s?

In our losses the one thing that stands out for me.... is that the ball carriers made us go to them ie held onto the ball until the Crows had to go to them then got the ball away..this breaks up the zone.

Please note this is only my observations from 17 games on tv and 2 at Subiaco. As noted West Coast were awesome and would have beaten anyone...maybe others by more. 23.6 is a rarity ... 18.11 and the AFC would have set up differently from the back lines. But I also noted that West Coast held on to the ball as long in a similar manner to Fremantle. A record number of handballs says that.

My fear, and one echoed last year and this year is we dont seem to have a plan B.
