Port this year have won 7 out of the 12 games he has played and has failed to win any of the 7 games he has missed.
Is he this important to our club or is it just a coincidence?
For those that think he is that important what does he bring to the team that is so important.

He is an angry man and we don't have too many of those type at the moment, it doesn't always work for him though.

He is important for the club atm because it enables Lade to play a different role. At the end of next year when some other ruckmen have come along they will be just as important to allow a decent dual ruck combo.
My view on why Brogan is so important is that he has perfected the art of dropping back into defence and marking in front of the opposition's leading forwards. He cuts off many attacks and gets the ball moving our way. It is a real skill and he gives our defence such a great level of assistance that I suspect anyone who checked would find that we generally concede a bigger score when he is out of the side.

He enables us to maximise Lade's versatility.

In 04, he was a great mark. It was like we had two chad cornes up back filling up holes and dropping back taking marks. They both did it really well

they named a percentage of games won by port, when brogan and lade rucked together, it was something like 76%, as opposed to 40ish% when one is out.
deluca is a good forward target, so lets hope he fills the shoes when lade leaves.
When Lade retires (in probably 2008), Brogan will need to step up a gear. The 2004 Broges (who should've been in the 2004 AA) will be back :)

He makes a huge difference.
The added flexibility it gives us to use Brendon (or Dean) up forward to draw the ball deep into our forward line is the main reason.
Also as our second ruckmen, he rarely gets beaten. He may not dominate with the taps to advantage or around the ground brilliance of Lade, but he rarely gets out-tapped and always puts in at ball-ups and stoppages.
