I'm trying to say is you don't have to have a great ruckman to be backup for Josh. Fanning, C.Cloke, Richards due to injury and to put it bluntly crapness at AFL level (althouhg C.Cloke was starting to turn the corner) aren't AFL capable atm. It would be handy if they have a solid body and are good at the hitouts in contrast to Josh (whos tapwork is vastly underrated). All we need is a Knobel or Biglands (although he can be more than that).
Ideally we would want a ruckman that can play somewhere else to backup Josh so he isn't on the bench doing nothing most of the game. This is where ideally C.Cloke can fit in. I would make a pretty big play for Robby Campbell, good tapper and a solid backman although with Everitt apparently off to Sydney they will try to hold on to him and will want too much.

There is no guarentee MM will be our coach next year so aker might be lineing up for us

Thats why i started this post, because of what crazy_pugsly wrote. He will win us a premiership. Coz he has skill, pace and FOOTBALL brains.
Didnt this bloke kick 5 goals in a granny against us?? Let me say if we chase him our soul goes out the window, might as well see if we can bring Wayne Harmes to the club!!!

I would love him at the club but wouldn't give up much for him.
The concern is not about his big mouth but about how well he will play. He was crap at the start of the season for Brisbane, what if he keeps sliding? IMO the price Brisbane AND Aker may ask is too risky.

Yeah I agree that how well he plays has to be the biggest issue. His mouthing off shouldn't be a massive concern when deciding whether or not to recruit him.
What will having the last half of this season off do for Aker? Will it be the rest he needs to recharge and play a few more elite seasons (like Warney after his drug ban)? Or will it just mean that he is one year older and is just a further inevitable deteoration of his abilities (like Carey when he went to Adelaide)?
Who knows time will tell I suppose but I reckon he's worth the punt.
