I have a great feeling about tonight. I predict nothing less than a win :)

I notice Walsh is named as an 'out - Power' for West Adelaide, yet wasnt even named in our 25 man squad. I wonder who isn't gonna come up? With Tarrant out, perhaps Bish will miss out for Walshy. Bishful thinking i know...

Hopefully we have a great crowd there tonight to say thanks to a true champion.

The game it self. Will be hard and expect the Eddie McGuire team to come out fighting.

Not so confident about the win though. As long as we play the same way we did against the dogs last week, Ill be happy.

Oh, dont forget to keep an eye out for Troys banner. Southern end behind the goals up the back.:thumbsu:

Collingwood to win by < 4 goals

Pighead Ed to burst a boiler upon sight of Troy Wingate's banner

Redcoats to seize said banner approximately 30 seconds after Pighead Ed throws hissy fit

Collingwood victory to bring a reprieve on the board from baggage that gets trawled out after a win, to wit:
Megalomania setting at 25%.

Oh, the irony (or is that hypocrisy?) is dripping from that statement.

On topic:

I have a feeling that we're going to go down but not by much.

The youn'uns will try their best but be let down by poor performances from some of the old stagers.

Ultimately, good signs, any good signs, are what I'm looking for out of this game.

Oh, how a consultation of Webster's, or Oxford Concise, is required, by the usage of those terms in this context.

If we are able to withstand the choking and shutdown tactics and use our pace I predict a win by 3-4 goals. It would also require a lot from the forwards in keeping the ball in the area and not allow the McGuires to fast break.

Curse you macdaicos! We'll win by 30 goals.

BTW what you do you think of this pic of the great Port legend Wangas?

http://www.users.on.net/~anthmich/AFL/images/2003_Rd19_Heritage.jpg

Nice uniform! Thirty plus flags have been won in that plus four Champions of Australia trophies including a belting of your lot on the way to the crown.

Pearce, Junior B., Lade, Chad, Salopek to be our best.
Buckley, Rocca and Leon Davis (the hack who loves playing us :( ) to be the Pies.

Paralowie's post from the tribute thread:-

Power supporters and football fans in general will have the opportunity to farewell Port Adelaide and Essendon champion Gavin Wanganeen on Friday night at Football Park . Wanganeen will do a lap of honour before the game at approximately 7.45pm. Fans are encouraged to get to the ground early. Many of the Power's former players will also be on hand Friday night. Former vice-captains Brayden Lyle and Darren Mead will be amongst around 20 past Port Adelaide AFL players who will be on the field to farewell Gavin.

This will be one of the very few times that i'll actually be sitting in my seat at least 30-40 minutes before the game starts as i don't want to miss seeing Gav do his lap of honour. Not sure if this true but apparently their will be 10 or more ex-Port players out on the ground when Gav does his lap of honour including Che, Meady, Primus etc.

I Predict:

The Port supporters will at some point in the game start a rendition of everybody's favourite polka 'Eddie's a ****er' :D

Willitis will kick 3-5 goals on debut. :thumbsu:

Their will be a few tears in the crowd when Gav walks around the oval for the very last time & the Collingwood supporters will give Gav a round of support :(

Port will win by 1-10 points in a tight contest.

What sort of crowd are we expecting? I would expect 35,000 at least, with Gav's lap of honour, us winning last week, Friday night factor and ofcourse playing Eddie's whingers. Would that be about right?

Wangas farewell game, the port boys will be well fired up and bustling with energy and courage.

We have to do absolutely everything and anything possible to win this one for wangas, it's the least he deserves.

Agreed. :thumbsu:

On him walking:- I predict Gavin will feign a leg injury and Port will have to rustle up a car to drive him around the ground. ;)

Probably close to it. Best not be a damn traffic jam up Tapleys Hill Road though, or someone will cop it

Yup. Heath Shaw will be reported for tripping Pearce, who manages to get his handball off anyhow, which goes straight to Willits who kicks the matchwinning goal just before the siren.

You're not around here much so I don't blame you, but I can't help feeling you missed a few subtleties in my post. Enjoy the win courtesy of a coat of paint and some poor kicking for goal in the last quarter by our boys. :)
