...I told you!

It's a great day to be a South Australian Bulldogs supporter. What an amazing game, just...wow.

I think this really sets up our next month very nicely, with emphasis of month meaning we'll be playing at least 4 more games this year. The St Kilda game is going to be huge, as will the Essendon game. It's starting to look like we'll most likely be playing a final in melbourne - Sydney, Eagles and Adelaide will all be top 4 sides you would think. Possibly one of Melbourne, St Kilda, or Freo could take the other spot in that top 4. That leaves Collingwood and us.

With the quality of players to come back in with Giansiracusa, Monty, and Eagleton it's looking like a good mix. We played some high pressure, finals-like football today, and I thought that for the most part the work rate was very good. We were able to do the crucial things at the right times, tackle hard and cause the turnover when the opposition tried to run through us. All very positive.

I'm glad some people kept their heads and didn't begin writing off the season, the Dogs are far from done.

West was amazing, Johnson, Cooney played the game of his career - wait till he's fully fit after a full pre-season, Jesus, Boyd was again outstanding in the contested ball, Power was a great scoring assister, liked his role today...it was just an all round team effort, and if this stays up the sky is the limit for this playing group. Bring on September!

I was actually taking notes on Powers performance today, made 3 errors in the first 3 mins of the game. lucky Adelaide didn't convert from there first 2 points that powers muck ups caused. Not to mention 2 of his 'assists' where flukey. The first one was a kick to a pack, Farren Ray took a contested mark! it sorta fell between the gap, great mark though poor delivery, and the 2nd one was a nine iron scope that went about 30 meters high and 20 meters long where cross was brave and backed in to traffic to take a courageous mark(though i think he kicked a point). The last one i remember was a bloody sensational mark from power to edge out his opponent then kick straight up to the air where Robbins basically had to take mark of the year to get it...and he did :) wonder what we would be saying if these guys didn't take them. I'am sure eade will sit him down with the tape this week and ask why he did those. There we a couple of other things power did, like kicking in to the middle of the ground..poor kick and intercepted. But then again, his last quater was great, even saw him dive on the ball when it was a pack! :)

Yeah - I'll give you that at times his disposal was a bit disappointing, but his vision to even put the ball where Ray took the mark was great - Johnson and Minson were both lined up behind Ray if it went a bit longer.

Re Sam Power, he who makes no mistakes does nothing in life. I was happy with his effort, he is improving, and is worth his place in the team, get off the guy's back.

I actually thought Sammy did a good job today.

Went hard when it was his turn, and if he can correct those floaters will definitely become a pretty important player for us with his versatility.

Yea, i'am slowly changing my opinion on him, but if you get a video of the game watch the first 5 mins. If thats him improving, then he's going to be in trouble next year when we get some boys back.

One thing that's been pointed out to me recently is how often an apparently awful kick by Power ends up with a positive result. It happened again today. While his kicks may be floaters or helicopters, the bottom line is he knows how to put them to a dangerous spot and our forwards are usually good enough to take advantage of it. I'd say he'll be a regular senior player from now on. he's really finding his feet.

It was Cooney's kick Robbins marked. Saw it again on Saturday Specials.

Yep Cooney sped by on Power's left, hoping I guess to straighten but his space was blocked and he kicked the left-footed floater that Robbins brought down.

The mark Ray took Minson was standing behind him and Johnson and managed to hold off two Adelaide defends from spoiling. Its the difference of having a big forward down there.

Sammy Power looks a lot better in the forward line...keep playing him there I reckon.
