What a difference a year makes!

Can anyone remember the corresponding round in 2005 where Robbo kicked 7 on Rookey which single-handedly gave the Dees their first win in 7 weeks?

A big pre-season and a good positional move by the coaches has seen this player turn into one of our most important.

Rooke - you are a star

The turn around came against West Coast last year. Shutting down Chris Judd is no easy task.

Last year, late in the season when he tagged and smashed the best player in the competition in Chris Judd appears to be the turning point.

The guy constantly nails his opposing player so when they gather the ball they are fearful and aware of his location because they don't want to get smashed for the 5th time in 10 minutes. I know if i was standing in the midfield and Rooke was walking in my direction, I would shat my pants.

Not only is he a brilliant tagging machine but he creates space and runs hard when we are carrying the ball. I.e. his match winning goal late in the 4th.

I officially love the guy (although i stated in the pre-season he was one of my favourite players).

Maybe this guy is captaincy material. He certainly leads by example.

He seems very strong in the core area, seems to break a heap of tackles.

I recall the Melbourne game and thought that even if he gets beaten he won't drop his head - just keeps plugging away.

He's a great story isn't he - not sure how true it is about his father sending video tapes because he wasn't good enough to get into one of the under-18 sides. If it wasn't for the rookie system he may never have got a game.
