Mathew Bate this year has really shown how in the future he will be a true superstar of the Melbourne football club. I was watching the game today and was loving his work, as i have been for the past few weeks. When i saw him go down i immediately thought he had done a knee and was extremely worried for him as an injury like a knee can change a footballer for life. I was just wondering if anyone knew or had heard anything yet about what the injury that happened to him actually is if it were possible to know yet.

There saying its just a cork below the knee, looked a bit worse than that but lets hope for the best.

Thats strange janx_ball, I heard that he will miss a week or two at the most on ABC
But yes, he will be a very good player :) .
His passing to Neitz in the third quarter really helped us gain the advantage today.

To me it looked like a hit just below the knee, which may have hyperextended the knee. Hopefully not too bad, and will miss one week maximum. Hope the same for Rivers.

He's the next Simon Goodwin, probably will be even better IMO

Wouldn't go that far JUST yet, but he is looking great.
He plays taller than Goodwin anyway.

I'm not its a genuine prediction. Put your house on it (if you have one)

Bates been a great pick up and will no doubt be one of the men carrying the team into the future. Still heaps of improvement to come, He seems to take one step too far when being chased so his awareness has to improve.

He was walking in the rooms with no ice, saw it with my own two eyes so you can hold me to that.
Didnt see Rivers but i hear he is fine too.

Neita injured his groin 2 but should be right for this week.

Rivers was half limping around the rooms, but no ice on the knee.
I watched the Foxtel replay active very closely. A fair few players were icing their bodies and limping, especially Chopper, and Rivers certainly didn't look any worse than the rest of them.
Here is hoping they all play. I am actually more concerned about Neita than the young boys. If he goes again next week and makes the injury worse, we can kiss our finals campaign goodbye... again!

once again from the internet and white line fever i have received mixed reports on Batey. I've heard hell be back next week and also possibly missing a fort night. Does anyone actually know.
