YAY! A thread on Will. :D

Ummmm I'm hoping so much that he doesn't go but... it's not looking good for him atm. -cries- With Callan coming through nicely in the VFL it seems to me that we might not need Sladey. :( Hope he can get ANOTHER chance but not sure if it's gonna happen. I'm not risking putting number 37 on my guernsey which is BRAND NEW (as of today!!! YAY!) untill next year incase he is a goner at season end.

He didn't play in the VFL on the weekend so if anyone knows whats up with that please tell me NOW!

I think Sladey is gone....

Love his endeavour and hardness, but has a few too many faults.

I highly doubt he will get delisted. Played senior footy when he was available this year.

I believe he will be on the senior list next year and will play senior footy next year. I like Slade.

He has to be promoted to the senior list at the end of the year or he is gone.I can't see him being promoted.

I know that and i beleive he will be promoted. The may delist him and re-draft him with a very late pick in the draft to they can elevate another rookie. Who else from the rookie list could be elevated (if any)?.

Batchelor and Sheringham have to be promoted or they're gone.I reckon Batchelor will be promoted.Hunt is too old,all though the new 'Mature Aged Rookie' could be used for him or Slade [doubtful on either].Grima could be elevated, but there's no real need to do it.Maybe he'll be the 'Nominated Rookie' next year like Batchelor is this year.

Slade is nothing but garbage.
It's a disgrace that anyone would want him back next year, then again if we're keeping Thompson as coach why not just have the team infested with crap in every area.

Dude, I love your contributions, but I must respectfully insist you stop fencesitting and tell us what you really think!

My own opinion on Slade is that his commitment is superb, but just isn't quite good enough. Although watching him elbow opponents heads is good for comic value it's probably not enough to save him.

As a Melbourne supporter i think Geelong would be better with more players like Slade on your list - either on the main list or as the mature age rookie - his skills look above average, his physical attributes (pace, endurance) are good, and he seems to have a crack, might not be in best 22 but seems to be more deservant than some of your key forward prospects (lonergan, n ablett, mccarthy, kingsley, gardiner). How one club can have so many bewilders me, but thats another issue. If Geelong don't take him im sure many other clubs will be interested

Ah how quickly things change.
At the start of the year when he was "on" and we were playing our football of false promise's , I thought he would be worthy of a place on our list.
But the way the years gone , he is no lock. It may come down to trades we do with other clubs , because there is no doubt that he is mature enough to play at the level and if we go hard at the trades we may think hes worth keeping to ensure we arnt too youthfull.
Generally thou Id say he has shown he is never going to be anything other than hard nut and if we are going to improve we cant have too many players that are under skilled in the main 22.
