I can smell the fresh air, and by doing so a I also smell the Western Bulldogs 2002 success. Lets be perfectly honest with eachother. I didnt fancy our chances going back 1 month ago, but now I have second thoughts. I believe we will surprise alot of people this year, and that may mean a top 4 finish. We have picked up some young and tallented players, and with their brains misxed in with our seniours, we are sure to head back to the top. We have a mega fast side, and are no longer the shortasses of the league. Be prepared for INSTANT success, and lets all support the 2002 wester bulldogs because 'together we win' Carn doggies!!!

I remember!!!! I have been telling anyone who will listen we are going to come hard at the top teams this year. It is in our clubs nature to do that. When not expected to perform we are in our element. When we have a good list like we do now, plus this added 'suprise' element...it looks real promising.

note that three out of our last four equally best performed years (prelim losses) we have come from outside the finals the year before.

PS. I think Plough and the whole club are making grounds in the area that is the 'bad' side of this coin. ie the inability to perform to that same level when it is expected.

We'll be a lot better than we were last year -- how that improvement measures up with every other teams' improvement will judge our ladder position.

Will be interesting to see how this 'skill/speed brilliant' game plan goes ... I see us absolutely smashing some teams with some beautiful attacking football when everything goes our way -- but just as easily see us getting slaughtered if the wheels fall off in some matches.

Exactly right Westy.Dont want to get to carried away with attacking by getting to many players forward of the ball.I doubt our disposal has improved enough to be able to trust we wont turn it over to much.:( Also we must except there will be flat patches during the year with our youngsters. There will be periods where we will lose a number of games on the trot.;)

Looking forward to a good year but all our young players will need to get a good go and have time to stay in the side and not get dropped straight away and also to have a good year we will need all our senior players to stand up and have a good run with injuries if all that happens and they gell well as a team we will be in for a good year.

Go Doggies

I'm looking forward to it also (who here isn't :p ). Theres a lot of potential there. It's really up to the young guys and those middle of the range types...most of whom went backwards last year, to improve.

Spot on, Dogboy -- 'Accountability' has to be driven into every players' head from day one.

But at least over the next couple of years, when we've left ourselves open defensively it'll be the likes of Giansiracusa, Murphy, McMahon and Power drilling it into the forward line (as opposed to Romero etc. floating it over the boundary line :)).

Terry has always wanted a pacy, versatile and skillful bunch of players -- he's damn well got it.

Giansiracusa in particular is one ive noticed always keeps possesion even if he has to spot some one up short and in the corridor he always finds a loose man rather than kicking to a 50/50 contest.Murphy also is able to keep his poise. It would be great for once to see us running the ball from end to end without turning itover.
