What tactic should we adopt at the end of the year - which one of 3 options

Option 1 We have a premiership list that should be topped up with 3-4 kids.

Option 2 We go after older players that will just make the difference ie Pickett last year. (Aka)

Option 3 We might not be as close as we think and should cut some losses (our depth players) for great kids in this draft - For example we git rid of Read, Godfrey, Wheatley, Brown, Holland as trade bait. With our recruiting and the readiness of kids these days (Jones, Bartram etc) in 3-4 years we could be unstoppable compared to continuing to be highly competitive

IMO its a matter of risk v reward, by the end of September I think it will be clear which option (or combination of options) is right.

I say let CAC have a look at the draft and what we could get, then decide with Danners whether it would be worth trading picks away.

Go the older players. I think we are ready. An aker will just make us unbeatable.

Stick with the younger players, if we go after older players with inflated contracts, it gives us salary cap problems when our youngers stars come out of contract in the next couple of years.

The right deals for older players in fine (For Aka I would say 2nd round pick + fringe player), but we should not sacrifice youth. We could sure use another Jones/McLean type in the first round of this draft who will give us a lot more than 1-3 years of Aka.
