Interesting article. I wonder if this "push" has started from the club?

Excuse me but we have been assured by a random Geelong supporter who spoke to an 'official contact' that Hodge will never captain so I think this is probably less reliable than that ;).

Push started from the club ? may be / may be not
It's a decent opinion piece (v rare for the herald scum) ,no one is quoted the phrases it's alleged, it's believed, it's known and it's been reported are remarkably absent .So i'll give MR credit for a well constructed ,thought provoking comment piece.:thumbsu:

Mitchell is a sensational player but Hodge is clearly the next captain of the HFC, brings so much more as a captain than Mitchell would as far as I'm concerned..

Chris Pelchen said and I quote "sam Mitchell is the next captain. Luke Hodge and Spida Everitt are the most arrogant people I have ever met in football. Neither of these players will ever captain Hawthorn".

Sammy Mitchell would be my preferred pick for captain I think, Hodge vice. Although they could co-captain as well, can't see anything wrong with that.

From what I've heard (ie: players from the club) Spide is a pretty good bloke, nothing remarkably arrogant or the like. But then again, people act differently around specific people.

Hodge and Mitchell, the two key leaders by 08.

Hodge should deffinatley be the next captain, it is just a matter of when.
He is an absolute superstar and will bring alot more to the team as captain. the whole team already looks to him for leadership and he is only young. he will make a great skipper when the time comes.
hodge for captain! he is a superstar!
