Some guy called Hawkins could be picked up through father-son, but he's a dud. So don't bother.

Tom Couch and Jacob Neal are the only ones I know of.

Just for thoughts, I think we can only pick up one father/son per year. This will be taken up with Hawkins, therefore there is no other opportunity to pick anyone up.

But it is a nice pickup at round 3.

Future wise though, Neal and Couch could be good ones.

correct, only one reserved place each year (round 3),but you can use earlier or later selections if wished

You can pick up as many father/son prospects as you want, but the sacrificed or reserved pick will continue to get higher. Clubs tend to stick to the single prospect, unless they're sitting on two golden eggs.

Couch, Neal, and Bairstow are the other 3 eligible boys for this year, though Toby has already indicated his need for another year of junior football.

Might add, for those interested, that young Adam Donohue (son or Larry, due 2007) will be on the Skilled Stadium turf pre-game as part of a country club skills contest this Saturday.

Will be nice to see how big he's gotten over the last year or so. From memory, he was noted as a handy 180/80 combo at 15 years of age.

Couch is the closest to be another FS this year. He seem to regularly contribute in the Falcons but in such a talent rich draft and being compelled to use an R2 pick because of Tom, it would just take the edge of the bargain that TH gives us , so I seriously doubt that they would consider him this year.

However , I wouldn't be suprised if he persuaded not to nominate and got an invitation to be a VFL supp player with us next year. This would let him develop by playing against the players that he would have been against if drafted anyway and a decision could then be made at 07 draft time.
The other thing is the potential FS draft rule changes , its possible that a bidding process may be introduced so we may only have to use a 4th Round pick on him if he is considered a highly speculative pick by other clubs.

Down the track there are many names tha have been mentioned before.
Donohue , Nankervis , Bews ...
plenty of FS options for the future in Gene-long

Couldn't we maybe pick one up on the rookie list. Since we have to get rid of the others bar Grima.

Not as a FatherSon. Only if we , like Richmond gambled and instructed the player to nominate and we pick him with a later pick, just like a normal player(Thats how they got Raines).Really, like this his fatherson history is more coincedental, playing little part in where he is drafted.
For us to pick any Rookie , he must be passed up by all clubs in the main draft first. With 16 clubs , we would only have a small chance of picking him up if others liked the look of him
