Good article on Tom Logan (http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,20242308-21545,00.html) in today's tiser and his playing resemblance to Dean Laidley the player, the JYD. I especially liked the highlighted quote .. remind you of anyone? ;)

TO Brenton Sanderson, the resemblance was uncanny.
Small, skinny, socks down, jumper out, black mouthguard, always at the bottom of packs, regular black eyes and constantly being stitched up by club medicos. Not to mention his love of a scrap.
Sanderson, the former Crow and Cat who is now Port Adelaide's development coach, had seen this type of tough, no-nonsense player before - in a former foe. "The Junkyard Dog, Dean Laidley!", he thought to himself.
<snip>
"I think there's much harder players out there, especially at Port, but I guess I try to get a lot of hard, contested balls," he said. "There's nothing flashy about me. I'm more of a contested ballgetter than being out on the wing receiving the free ones I guess, the ones that are a bit easy. I like to get in and under the packs and get the ball that way."
<snip>
So now we have the next D Laidley to go along with the next M Michael & the next A McLeod plus a superstar better than C Judd.
Maybe it's time to invest in a PA membership. :)

According to Bruce McAvaney Shaun Burgoyne is, right now, the best footballer in SA. Make of that what you will.

Crows supporters want to be the last ones to comment on supporters pumping up the tyres of their players. I've lost track of the number of budding crows AFL superstars who wound up plying their trade in suburban football. ;)

I would agree with that I still say when fit Peter is better but the gap is decreasing.

Over the last month i think most would agree.

No way.
Best Forward : Peter
Best Defender : Shaun
Best In and under midfielder : Shaun
Best receiving midfielder : Peter
Best tackler : Shaun
Best mark : Shaun
Best evader (and knowing when NOT to try it) : Shaun
Therefore Shaun > Peter - and will only increase the gap.

Andre you forgot another criteria, the BBF, that's the Burgoyne Brain Fade. Shaun sometimes experiences a BBF, but Peter has regular BBF's during each match, therefore once again Shaun >> Peter

:D
JB does. But they seem to be a lot more calculated than Peter's.

I didn't forget it - note the bit in brackets about best evader - and when NOT to do it - ala the BBF :D
