With Aaron James playing up forward this pre-season I must admit to being a bit sceptical about it. I was hoping he'd be groomed for Full Back with Hunter up front. This doesn't seem to be in the current planning.
Is Aaron James the answer at Full Forward this year for us and what attributes could he bring to the position?

You would think at his height he would be capable of bringing the ball to ground alot but Bartlett could do that so they must have some faith in his ability to kick goals and be a real contributing factor down there.I would still rather see Hunter given a full go down there and see if he can make it.Hes shown he can kick bags down there and if we could get a full forward firing we would be a very hard team to beat.I always thought James would be used as a back so I hope this is just an experiment although I would be happy if he came out in round 1 and kicked 6.:D

Well get used to one thing, he likes to use the F word alot when he is playing. As soon as he does something stupid, which I might add is quite often, he lets it fly. Pretty funny when you are sitting in the crowd at Punt Rd watching the seconds and he goes off his nut.
Might be a good pickup for you guys though, he has some height and actually started to play some ok footy up forward in the seniors before he got injured. Crap defender though, doesn't have the discipline to stay with his man.

Yeah I would have thought that James wouldve played in the bacline he has the much needed height to play there.I wouldve thought they wouldve been playing Kingsley in the forward line and see how he goes.Oh well i guess the coaching staff do know wat they are doing.
Add him to the black hole that is:
BULLDOG FULL FORWARDS
Go in a full forward, come out ANYWHERE

There is nothing wrong with our recent full forwards thanks very much. I blame the delivery

The thing with James is you know there is some real talent in there somewhere. Otherwise he would never have been able to get so many 'last chance'. I am happy for him to have a crack at it, like everyone was thinkig Hunter would be first in line, but maybe he was and James out did him in that regard over summer?

Taking away my obvious bias, I really think Kingsley should at least be given a chance to show what he can do.
When given the chance last year he generally kicked goals. Apart from his bag of 7 against the Dees he also had a couple of 3 goal quarters and things, but was then never given the chance to start a game there. In round 1 he kicked 3 in the last quarter against St Kilda, next week he's down back again.
James has got skill, but his kicking for goal is a worry. At Freo after his first ten games where he didn't get a kick Kingsley averaged 3 goals a game.

I almost agree with you there B1954
Kinglsey has proven to be able to kick goals last year, but two points are worth mentioning:
a/ When we first came to the Western Oval he was asked to kick goals. He didn't, he was told to re-invent himself, he did.
b/ Kingsley is a fine backman. Now it looks like Crofty, Kretta, etc have gone and hurt themselves (again). You put Kinga up front, we're left with no big men down the back.
(I can't believe im where im going here, but...)
Hunter does have some silky skills. For a man of his size, he is extremely quick. He has a lot of dash, and like i said, last year, proved that he had his goal sense back.
I'd much rather see Hunter down the back for a MAJORITY of the game, and maybe spend a quarter up the front. Down back, he gives a bit of dash of the line.
Crofty kicks out to Hunter, who takes off up the ground, running out of his own 50, he beats three, gives the hands of to Dimma who in turn gives it over to Smith, who takes a bounce, kicks from 60....... GOAL :D:D

Please don't ruin my fantasy with complete and utter disrespect.
I can handle the Kingsley Hunter fan club, but the day Trent Bartlett becomes captain of the Western Bulldogs is the day i burn down the EJ Whitten Stand
Some things shouldn't even be joked about

Would u mind if a recently retired bald man with extreme pace and amazing goal sense was added to your little fantasy? :)

Well i personally believe that picking up aaron james was one of the worst things the club has done.
However, he did seem in good touch in the practice matches, and if he does prove a great pick up ill be the first to eat my words.
I think Nathan Saunders is one of our answers down forward ( thats if they play him there) I believe he could kick 50 odd goals a season playing down forward.
