Rooke - 9 - Most improved player

Ablett jnr - 8 - Great start gone missing with injuries lately
Ling - 5 1/2 - Has been servicable, not outstanding but ok
Bartel - 7 - Good solid performance
S.Johnson - 4 1/2 - Poor season but finsihing strongly
D.Johnson - 7 - Has done his job
S.King - 5 - Improvement on previous year, still needs to lift
Scarlett - 8 1/2 - As always great
Hunt - 7 - Gets a bad rap but I think he has been good
Enright - 8 - Has had a great season
Milburn - 7 - Not as good as last year but still good
Corey - 7 - Same as Milburn
Wojinski - 5 - Probably not quite as good as I had hoped
Stokes - 8 - Much more than could have hoped for
Mooney - 7 - Good but temper problems marred a good season
Tenace - 4 - Expected much more
Burns - 5 - Not quite as much as I expected
Gardner - 1 - I groan every time I see him selected
Playfair - 3 - Expected more, now questioning if he is any good
McCarthy - 2 - Need to show more
Riccardi - 7 - Not as good as last year but showed glimpses
Kelly - 3 - Wasting his talent
Blake - 7 - Developiong well
Ottens - 7 1/2 -Proved his value
Mackie - 7 -Shown genuine improvement

Scores were based on how they did relative to my expectations. What do you guys reckon?

Eg: Expected a lot from Kelly and nothing from Stokes beginning of the year, hence the difference in score. (Eddited to add Ottens & Mackie)

That you either had very low expectations on a few of these players (i.e. Ling) or you're a very easy marker. Wish you were my teacher back when I was at school!!! Ling should be given a 2

DanA I'm impressed. That is spot on and cat fans would probably have went for Gaz with a 10 but over the last month hasnt delivered due to injury and being used in the midfield. Paul Chapman should get B&F this year.

Way to harsh on Woja. You couldnt have expected him to do that much, just came of a knee-reco. Its not like he was just going to come back strait abck into form. Been a bit disapointed with bomber not playing him enough though.

2? Like it or not, he still wins the ball and is consistent.

Better than many players this year.

1) Can't kick
2) Can't make decisions

Still a problem, and always will be.

and yet your standing up for ling?

i'd rather see wojac running himself into trouble and turn it over bombing it long than see ling get the ball and blind handpass it backwards and then turn it over by chipping sideways

Anyone who is standing up for Wojcinski over Ling has something wrong ticking in their brain!

Wojcinski is one of the dumbest players in the AFL, in terms of footballing smarts.

true, but i feel he brings more to geelongs chances than ling does. woja adds speed, ling doesnt really add anything

Della I clearly wrote relative to my expectations

How much can you expect from a 5' and change first year player drafted from our last pick?

I expected Riccardi to retire last year. Has shown class in bursts, just couldn't get on the track that much. Last year I thought he was phenominal.

Blake has done a little better than most expected. To me he looks like he may be a regular next year.

What and Ling is the smartest? I would rather someone who kicked it long and didnt know what they were doing then someone kicking 5 meters side ways and not no what there doing.

surely not as dumb as ling trying to pick the ball up yesterday, and then having cameron bruce come in, pick it up with one hand and kick for goal.

ling is not free from criticism and has as many faults as the next geelong player. the game has changed and will continue to change, he is struggling with the pace of the game, pure and simple.

thats also a big call that woja is one of the "dumbest players in the AFL", there are quite a few at all clubs. one is even captain at hawthorn.

i grow weary of cm35's anti-woja stance.

"here he comes, beatin' his drum"

and talkin' of DUMB - thought i saw at least THREE blind ling h'passes to NO_ONE - OR - the opp!!!!!!!!!!

And For The Record Cm35 - Everyone Knows Woja's Disposal Aint Triple A-grade, Everyone Knows He Gets Caught Takin' 'em On Occasionally.

But - Still - At Least 95% Of The Peeps On Here Think He Brings Something That The Likes Of The Supposed 'gifted Users' Don't!

No you're right, lets just recruit players that get cheap kicks receiving the easy handball and kick it sideways all day. My assessment was based on this season and this season alone. Although I have been a fan of him the last few years this year he has been a liability, particularly earlier in the year when his short kicking and turnovers drove me insane.

Don't you rate Brad Ottens?

I certainly do. In my opinion has had a good season. Kicked goals and been our best ruckman. The only other change I'd make is increase Scarlett's rating. He's been brilliant as always.
