Dear John,

I am writing to you to let you know you have the support of all Eagles supporters since you arrived at the club.

We are not asking for miracles and we know you are inexperienced at this level of coaching, but what we do know is that over the past 2 years, the club has taken a battering from the former coach, who ou know was sacked because he did not communicate with the players.

We watched over the last 2 years Champions, who some you did play with, lose form, passion and heart. This was the damage caused by the former coach who degraded the players, lost sight of any game plans, and never had the right match ups on game days. The players lowered their heads and walked from the grounds in despair. It was a sad sight to see.

The former coach bagged the players, had no rapport with the players and they basically did not like the man and went through the motions. If the club was to become a force again, there needed to be a change in coach, and you were the man picked from the job.

Us supporters from the grass root levels of the game have faith in you. We do not expect a grand final nor a top eight finish, but we know your heart is with the club and you shall instill the pride and passion which made us a team to fear. In my honest opinion and I feel I can speak on behalf of the many supporters here, we know you can put the heart back into the club and the passion back into the jumper.

You did us proud before and you will again....this I feel in my heart.

With sincerity and deep respect...

Goldenblue, I couldn't agree more with your open letter to John! Unlike KJ's begrudged opinion, the Eagles fans don't look at Woosha as the messiah. We don't deny that we want to return to past glories but as you say, we are not asking for miracles. We're just expecting more heart and pride, which Judge didn't have. Not only he was a bad coach but he was also an excuser. While some coaches look at rebuilding as an ongoing process, KJ was always trying to justify his failures on the "rebuilding myth". He was also making an effort to hold Malthouse accountable, by suggesting that we were left with a weak team. People who blame others for their own shortcomings, don't deserve much respect.

Now another matter. Though this is only my second post I have been reading you guys for months. I haven't participated because I don't always have the time and I much prefer to read about footy from people in the know. The more I read the more I learn, specially about players potential. Frodo and TheRealBuzz, thanks for your welcome. Keep up the good work.

Just thought I would bring this up again. Was thinking about this post I made when Woosha first was appointed the coach and am very happy with the inroads he has made to our club.

Woosha, you are the heart and soul of our club and if you bring a flag to our club soon you will know that us true diehard supporters will silently appreciate the time and effort you have put in. Just to thank you would never be enough, I would feel I robbed you of what you truly deserve.

I thank you for bringing respect back to our club, making us a feared team once again, and giving the players respect and a chance to believe in themselves. Even if we missed out on a flag in the next few years, I am proud of what you have achieved.

Forever in your debt,

GB.

he really is the hearyt and soul of the club isn't he.

such a legend, we should probably name the B and F after him...

( although I have always wanted Jakovich to get that honour I would be extremelly happy and am begining to think Woosha should and will be the one )

Thanks for bumping this thread Golden Blue

Agree with all the sentiments about Woosha. Always admired him as a player, a captain and now a coach

It was also great in putting this season in perpestive a bit more

Makes you realise that you should really enjoy the success of the club in the good times :) :D

Best. (Eagles) Coach. Ever.

this has nothing to do with the malthouse now being the collingwood coach.
(i want him sacked, i think that morrison/caracella were a step backwards)

and worsfold has clearly done alot for you guys. i really like worsfold, and your team. (however i still want mcdougal back at FF).

but surely, at this stage, malthouse is the best eagles coach ever?

I agree. He is the one that coached Worsfold and probably part of the reason that Worsfold became as good as he was. Not to mention the two premierships he coached us too.

Having said all that I do firmly believe that Woosha is probably the most important leader that we have had at our club and will for a long time be remembered as a GOD in my book. Great person, strong character, great leader and an amazing coach.
