According to the bastion of credibility, the Sunday Mail, Dean Solomon has only been offered a 1 year deal by the bombers and may come to the Power.

Also Hardwick wants to coach at the Power.

Another item says that a current assistant AFL coach with SANFL experience has applied for the Sturt job - McGuiness maybe ??

McGuiness can leave for Sturt now with pleasure. I will even offer to help clear out his desk. :D

Damo Hardwick! Would love to see him sitting in the coaches box.

Solomon. Not sure just yet what to make of that idea.

Would be great to have Dimma back on board.

As for Solomon. I honestly cannot believe we would be looking at him. I will be extremely dissapointed if we take him on next year. Hes just a cheap shot merchant who hasnt done a thing in about 4 years.

I've always hoped the plan for Dimma was for him to cut his teeth elsewhere then come back to our coaching team. It's interesting how non Port people like Dimma seem to be ready made Port people - Fos being the greatest example of this.

I think it's too early for a top up player of Solomons age 'tho (without considering whether he would be good enough anyway).

I have ust taken a look online at their website and for the life of me I can't find anything. So unless you can come up with a link to that story stop posting utter crap :thumbsu:

Get Hardwick back on board today!

Solomon - no thanks...

I just don't think Solomon's body is sound. Much better to let Wilbur have one more year mentoring the likes of Thomas.

As for Dimma, he be much better off with Choco than Clarkson if he wants to develop as a coach.

It's not crap, the article is in the SM, but there is no on-line article. It simply says Port are reportedly interested in Solomon (the journo probably read that on BF) - but his manager has said they won't be making any decisions until after the season - obviously the 1 year contract is both a sticking point and a bit of a lure by Sheeds. Hardwick has said he would be interested in coming to Port if asked (which - officially - he hasn't been).

Hopefully the wife wants to move back to Adelaide as well as that was what stopped him signing on as an assistant with us after his retirement......

1. **** Solomon, let some dumb Victorian team like Carlton pay too much for him in the PSD.
2. Hardwick back would be OK.

Don't know about the veracity of these reports. Dimma's wife really wanted to go back to Melbourne - has she changed her mind already?

If we get Solomon, I will tear up my 2006 membership... after it becomes invalid.

As for Hardwick, would be stoked to get him back on board.

Solomon has improved alot in the 2nd half of the season and he does try his guts out and still only 26. He just has a couple of brain explosions where he gives away stupid frees.

Best for everyone if you hang onto him then, isn't it.

Well, let me be the first Port fan this year to break out "How does for nothing in the PSD sound?"

Dimma come on down! Admired him as much as an opposition fan could when he played for the bombers, loved him when he played for Port. Became a legend after his GF effort. He would be perfect in an assistant role, with a view to the future.

Solomon? Only the Kangas would trade anything of value for him, surely.

How about Dew, Thurstans and pick 5 for Solomon and pick 1?

There's that contract/PSD thing that would be a stumbling block. But Bishop is out of contract! :thumbsu:

Never mind recruiting other team's cast offs. Just keep drafting and building that team for the future. It's hurtling towards us a lot quicker than we thought!

Couldn't agree more FF. Th club should keep doing what it has been doing, as our youngsters are developing nicely and unlike previous years we have a higher draft pick in a high quality draft. I will definitely be disappointed if we attempt to pick up Solomon. Youth should see us been nn the finals for at least the next five years. Get rid of Freddy and appoint Dimma and things will keep moving along nicely. The future looks much brighter than it did at the beginning of the season.

If Dimma comes on board it will be for one of the other assistants and not Freddy..............there will be changes at the end of the year with one of the assistants who has been with us since Williams started moving back home.

Not sure if anyone saw the Channel 7 news on Thursday Night but McGuinness is loving it at Port Adelaide and although there was no statement from the Club on his performance the 'love affair' appears mutual.

From what I've heard he's doing everything asked of him by the coaching team and board and a lot more.

Dimma can always come back, the door is open. However, the proviso is bringing in tow with him one or 2 of those good Hawk kids like Bateman. In hindsight we should have had the same proviso for Rhode to bring with him some of those good young doggies.
