View Full Version : Spider's Raffle
another fact apparently to put pay to that is his partner stated yesterday he has sent a copy of the raffle that he drew for Hawthorn,to his lawyer and he is considering sueing some of the boys at the club for defamation...he is finished at the Hawks, i'll stake my life on it. Too much water has passed under the bridge now. We will survive without him.... We have Robbie, and Max, they will only improve more each time they play. GO HAWKERS!!!! Bring on 2007..
Any source to this or any any news. For the life of me, I cannot believe that there seems to be an issue here as there is always a chance that you'd be able to pull a mate's name out've a raffle in my opinion.
There's obviouslt a bit more to this it seems.

Amos,
If you read Scott Palmer's column in the Herald Sun today, it states it in there. Sheree Orchard (Spida's partner) spoke to the radio station yesterday, she told them about it. Sam Newman and Ricky Nixon also had words about it, Ricky accusing Sam of being unfair to Spida, as he works with him.Sam did a skit on The Footy SHow Thursday night drawing some tickets from a barrel, pretending to pick his own name four times. Apparently some heated words were spoken.

Raffle kerfuffle explained
THE great Spida Everitt raffle saga ended without major drama but left the ruckman bewildered and confused about why he is always under scrutiny and suspicion. Everitt drew the winner of the players' trip raffle last Sunday and found the $4000 first prize had gone to ticket 105 – a ticket he had sold two days earlier to an associate. But when a different close associate of Everitt's came forward the next day to collect the prize, organisers John Barker and Campbell Brown launched their own mini-investigation to ensure the money went to the right winner. The mere suggestion of suspicion infuriated Everitt, who took issue with several players, feeling his integrity had been questioned.
A skit on Channel Nine on Thursday night concerning Everitt's part in the raffle may have more repercussions, with Everitt's management threatening to take the matter further. "I am extremely disappointed in the way that I was portrayed on The Footy Show. I am currently seeking legal advice in relation to this matter." Everitt said in a statement.
Skipper Richie Vandenberg told Pssst there was never any query over Everitt's role in the drama. He stressed it was a privately run raffle for the trip fund and not linked to the leadership group, which Everitt departed six weeks ago. The rightful raffle winner, who did not want to be named, confirmed to Pssst he'd bought the ticket last Friday. "Spida sold me two tickets last Friday," he said. He's still waiting for the cheque.
Well what a surprise, another storm in a teacup!
