Now that they've all had time to prove their worth who do you consider to be the best player to come out of the worst draft of all time?

With the way the players have developed from that list you'd say just about every club could stake their claim for having drafted one of the best players.

I dont think many clubs would swap who they drafted for anyone else on that list.

Goddard rightfully number one in my opinion. Then i'd say Wells after that you could throw a blanket over about 5.

Kade Simpson

Overlook the unwarranted media hype, and please realise that Wells is no good

Goddard is ahead of Wells now, but Simpson is ahead of both.

Simpson is the only player on that list with pace, skills and the ability to find the ball.

Everyone else is lacking in one area... And obviously all of the talls on the list are crap besides Rivers.

Might as well make a list:

#1: Kade Simpson
#2: Brendon Goddard
#3: Jared Rivers
#4: Daniel Wells
#5: Steven Salopek

Out of that list, id most like my team to have:

#1 - Salopek
#2 - Simpson
#3 - Wells
#4 - Rivers
#5 - Goddard.

I like Goddard, hes just not as explosive as some of the other middies there.

Not such a strong draft. And the player that is winning the votes went at pick 45

Go Blues:)

1. Wells
2. Goddard
3. Watson
4. Simpson
5. Rivers

Havn't seen a lot of Simpson, but he was super impressive today. All above players will be guns.

Kade Simps
27 Aug 2006, 22:51
Kade Simpson ofcourse who else, but goddard has been very solid and also like jobe, all three will be great players, and salopek should become a very solid player.

Forgive me but is Simpson that good?

A few solid players, i reckon Port with Ebert & Salopek would be happy as they've improved a lot in the last 12 months after being kept out of a very sucessful team for their first few years.

.

No, he is a dud

I have never seen him do anything worthwhile on a footy field

he is probably at the same level as someone like Steven Armstrong from WC, or Paul Koulouritis from Geelong

No idea why Blues fans are pumping him up, but when you suffer for so long you have to try and make yourself feel better I suppose

I can't believe no-one rates Rivers. I can understand those who are besotted by the moment having Goddard ahead of him after BJ's great 2006 but Rivers should be ahead of all others mentioned.........

2004 - Rising Star
2005 - His worst year and he wasn't disgraceful.
2006 - Excellent again

A.Selwood is also very underrated by those who are touting Simpson as a superstar.

Forgot who Brad Fisher was for a sec:o

If I was a Blues supporter he would excite me more than Kade Simpson.

LOL Goddard!

Im too soft to get a kick so let me be loose man in the backline! Goddard is a peaheart and a joke!

Tell me how many times Goddard has been tagged in his career?

Wells get s tagged every week and hes only 21!

Out of that entire list their is only maybe 2 players who get tagged, AFL coaches must be poor judges if thay are wasting a tag on Wells???

Cassius_Clay
28 Aug 2006, 11:04
Maybe because the Kangaroos have no-one decent enough to tag.

Goddard >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wells

The thing with Fisher is while he is a great pack mark he is a bad kick for goal. While Simpson is a good kick , has pace and is a good mark for his size.
