If you were a member of the Essendon Football club selection committee, what would you suggested lineup changes be this week?

Me, well, if I was a member of the selection committee, I sure as hell wouldn't be posting my thoughts on an internet discussion group - so i'll keep my thoughts to myself.

Are you suggesting you are on the selection commitee? In which case it might be the reason Essendon have struggled this year if they ask for advice on the internet. :)

*Just in jest, in a perfect world i'd want essendon in the 8 ahead of collingwood*

JJ back in, Rioli mentioned that he wanted a rookie to come in to replace him, perhaps Firman will get a chance???

INs JJ, one other.
Outs Rioli, one other.

Out: Rioli, McPhee
McPhee looks proppy to me. Farewell games for Bolton, Reynolds, Cartledge, Peverill and Solomon?

McPhee won't be dropped, sure he fumbled a little last week, but he still provided a heap of run off HB, will be very important against the Doggies this week, especially if need against B.Johnson at some stage, could even have a stint in the forward line if we want to try and stretch teir defence

He'll have 8 weeks to rest AFTER he plays this weekend.

Cant see Bolton being dropped...seeing as the Dogs are vertically challenged at the minute. Might be a win for us if they stay true to their word and rest some of their gun kids in Cooney n Griffen. This game has youth written all over it.

Mark Johno has been offered 1 week for striking Kayne Pettifer

He was offered a reprimand (1 week without the early plea), but they are going to contest it anyway.

So if they lose the appeal does that mean he miss this week or just gets the reprimand?

He'll get the week, he is going to plead not guilty.

The only problem with that is, he carries 70 odd points into next season and if he gets done again is in danger of getting an extra week.

If the club believe he is not guilty, and the footage looks like Pettifer may have taken a dive, then pleading not guilty and walking away with no points at all is a much better outcome.

Given the job McVeigh did on Johnson last time hopefully we wont need him to cover ;)

I'd Go

In: JJ, Lonergan, Lee & Nash
Out: Rioli, Reynolds, Cartledge & Bolton

Id go with this as well , Bradley back to second ruck. Not sure if there is a match up for Lee , maybe Jolley back for one last shot.

I'd have Winderlich in instead of Lee or Jolley, even with him suffering slight concussion on the weekend.

Good point , i only threw up Jolley as it may well be the last chance for them to have a look at him .

Chris Grant?

Definately.

Solly on Johnson, when Johnson plays from the square and Lee on Grant.

Great experience for the kid.

No, I also haven't forgotten that with Lovett out McVeigh is our best small forward.

I'd leave him up the ground if possible.

Depends on what role they use Grant in. Last time he was usesd as the free man in defence.

Has been used in both roles all year. Was very effective against us last time filling the hole in defence so he may well be used that way again.

We had Lloyd last time thats why he was filling the hole! He may play down back but if Lee's in the team we could send him Forward!

was watching white line fever before, eade said that players who were slightly injured wouldn't play, then said grant didn't train coz of sore calves..from that i'd say grant will be rested..
