This thread is a good idea for a competition.

The first poster who gets the nearest to or exactly the official best and fairest top 10 as decided by the club shall win

I'll try and get the Chief to commit a year's membership as a prize.

Confirmed! Our benevolent Chief has kindly agreed to sponsor this competition.

The winner to receive a free membership for 12 months

I believe the B & F is on Oct 03 2006

1. Sam Fisher
2. Riewoldt
3. Robert Harvey
4. Nick Dal Santo
5. Max Hudgton
7. Luke Ball
8. Fraser Gehrig
9. Brendon Goddard
10. Jason Gram

Although, I'd reserve this for finals... where it's likely Riewoldt may jump past sam fisher. Out of sake of curiosity, where do you guys think Lenny Hayes will finish? He was playing in brownlow winning form b4 he went down.

Lenny quite an amazing player, so sad to see him go down. Gram has also been a massive contributor this year and provides great run off half-back.

Goddard a great player with a smart mind, thoroughly improved.

Pretty accurate Hotdog, these are my thoughts.

Personally i think:

1. Lenny (Jokes), Riewoldt
2. Harvey
3. Dal Santo
4. Goddard
5. Harvey
6. Gram
7. Ball
8.Hudghton
9. Lenny (What a superstar)

So how is it scored? Is it simply whoever gets the most right, or should their be a points system? Eg: If you get the player's placing right, you get 5 points, if it is within 3 spots you get 2 points and if its within 5 spots you get one point. How does that sound?

Kildonan

It will be the closest match with the most players nearest to the correct position.

We will confer on it (Sainter and I)

4 - Gram - Harvey
5 - Harvey - Goddard

The quality of the top 10 picks was very high.

There were several very close but Sainter and I think that The Punter was the closest.

We have scored the competition by giving for each of the 10 positions:
10 points for getting an exact match
9 points for being 1 off exact match
8 points for being 2 off exact match
etc...
1 point for being 9 off exact match
0 points for player not named in top 10

Using this formula, The Punter wins with 86 points including 5 exact matches and 4 players 1 off their exact finishing positions.

No-one picked all 10 players.

1 Riewoldt 1
2 S Fisher 3
3 Gram 2
4 Harvey 4
5 Goddard 5/6
6 Dal Santo 5/6
7 Ball -
8 Montagna 9
9 Hudghton 7/8
10 Voss 10

My pick - Real - Score

1. Goddard - Roo - 6
2. Riewoldt - Gram - 9
3. Dal Santo - S Fisher - 7
4. Gram - Harvey - 8
5. Harvey - Goddard - 9
6. S. Fisher - Dal Santo - 7
7. Montagna - Hudghton - 8
8. Baker - G-Train - 0
9. Hayes - Joey - 0
10. Hudghton - Voss - 7

I took a real punt on Goddard (I just wanted to go against popular opinion ;)).

So just out of interest because I'm bored, I scored a paltry 61...
