Taking pride of place on Ron Alexander's mantlepiece is a crystal decanter, presented to him by the family of which Fitzroy legend from the 1920's?

Is it the wrong era for it to have come from THAT BUNCH OF FREAKES?

You've done it again, CJ.

The decanter was given to Ron by the family of Jack Moriarty, Fitzroy's gun full-forward from the 1920's & 30's. Apparently Jack was impressed with the way big Ron played & was proud of the way he carried on the tradition of number 6's at Fitzroy.

For his part, Ron seemed to treat this accolade from the former Fitzroy great with as much reverence as his 1981 B&F with the Roys.

Jim Freake was from the right era. He finished playing in 1924, the same year Jack Moriarty joined the Roys.

Incidentally, Jack's father, Geoff Moriarty played in 2 Premierships for Fitzroy & was our first coach.
