View Full Version : McPhee
If we were travelling a little better he'd be in strife. Attitude and form has been ordinary to say the least. Needs a good kick up the arse heading into 2007.
Couldn't agree more.
I'm sure he'll come good in 07. Wouldn't be surprised if he's carrying some injury.

He certainly has had a pathetic season. Very dissapointing.

Has gone from the most improved player to the worst player. End of year couldn't come quicker enough. Will be interesting.
Injuries aside...thats 2 ordinary seasons by Adam....one more like this year and we might be speculating his trade. Cant see it happening though...expecting him to bounce back. Tonight's effort was would notably be one of his worst.
He can bounce back, he'll probably play better if the team travels better

real good players enhance their reputation when the team isnt travelling well. he certainly hasnt done so.
I think perhaps he might be a real confidence player and that after his injury plagued 2005 season he hasn't been able to recapture his form. Honestly in 2004 he marked absolutely anything that came near him in the air, but this season he's been dropping marks he would have taken previously with ease and fumbling the ball in situations he would have taken it cleanly a few years ago.
I am hoping he can return to his top form next season though but there doesn't seem to have been a physical reason that he couldn't perform at his best this season (as far as i know).

Maybe he's not real good, injured or just out of form. He's got it in him, just like a lot of other senior players at the club he can and should pick it up next year
The question is will he be with us next year?

I think he will be! It would have to to be a very good trade for Essendon to show him the door
He can still generate a lot of run and has good games against Reiwoldt and Tarrant etc, as said earleir it would have to be a darn good trade to consider, he's not the only senior player to have an off year this year
Great to see JJ get some form back, hopefully he has a terrific year next year

Uncontracted, really struggled the last two years, rumours from a few areas that he isnt totaly happy (yes they are only rumours) and i dont think i would be talking out of school if i suggested he isnt the most popular person in the playing group.
It is all speculation but it makes me nervous when a player of his quality isnt signed up early.

Was terrible last night, showed flashes of his best throughout the year which pretty much sums up our season.

If we can get a first round pick off Sydney by trading Spider and our second round pick, we could on trade that to you. Giving you a pretty awesome hand come draft day considering the supposed strength of the draft.
Realistically I think McPhee will stay. It'd be interesting see him and Vanders play together though ;)

I was going to come on here and say he's a pretty handy player, but after reading what has been posted, am a bit concerned.
As for cschreuder61, I Would agree with that. If we can get pick 13-16 for Spider, would Essendon accept that for McPhee?
Essendon would then have picks 2, 15 (likely), 18, 20, 36, 52, 68, 74 and 90. Obviously Essendon probably wouldn't use a pick after 36. Pretty handy, given this is the super draft.
Would Hawthorn give up pick 13-16 in order to gain some experience? I would suggest it is likely.

I'd say Kevin Sheedy would want to keep faith in McPhee and reject the deal.
The Bombers would definately use pick 52 and have an outside chance to use pick 68

Agree I think Sheeds will keep McPhee! Do you really think we will use pick 68?

I suspect we would go for a late first round pick for Mcphee. In saying that it would be a case of mcphee wanting to leave promting a trade rather than us wanting to off load him.

mcphee was rubbish this year, i mean he is in that band of players this year that didnt step up/play to their potential when needed, and if they did then those 5 or so close games could of ended in our favour
no love mcphee, you only show confidence when the team does, playing in shadows perhaps??
