I'm putting forward this idea in the hope that the success of Rix will ensure Brooks' permanent demotion to whatever is lower than Casey's reserves. Brooks is a modern day Capuano, but worse. I hope he proves me wrong like Troy Schwarze did when I used to call him a Capuano to my mates, but I doubt it.
By the way, Troy Schwarze has come good this year, what a champ. I've even stopped bagging Goddard. However, this outpouring of goodwill stops with bringing back Barry Brooks.

Ruckmen do take time to mature into the role.
I hope he does prove you wrong, but I fear that we have lost patience with him and the draft picks and development that we have put into him will have been wasted.
One thing in his favour, apart from his good form in the Casey Scorpions, is that there will likely be a fair number of retirements and delistings at the club at the end of the year.
The club has gone to great lengths to keep the playing group together, and Brooksy does seem popular with the boys, so who knows. Maybe if he shows something tonight he will have thrown himself a lifeline.

Retirements won't come from Rix, Ackland or Blake you'd think. How long has Brooks been there?
Don't really follow Casey, are any young players going any good?
Particularly Murray, Gwilt, and that Sweeney kid I've never heard of since he got drafted.

What are you going to do if Barry Brooks comes good? There must be some project player you can direct your venom at?
I find that it is much easier to pick on opposition players. There are so many more of them for a start.

Yeah, but I just don't really care about them. I hope he does prove me wrong.

It would be stupid to get rid of him now, if we were going to get rid of him it would have been at the end of '05. He's still only 22, 23 next year so he may just come good.
