Can someone confirm that this is correct

You are allowed 38 senior listed players, plus up to 2 veterans outside the main list, plus up to 6 rookies (minus number of vets), for a total of 44 players.
At the moment, we have 39 players on the senior list, including veterans, 2 elevated rookies and Angus Graham still on the rookie list for a total of 42.

Doesn't that mean that if we have an extra veteran next year (Gas), then we have a free spot on the list that we can use to avoid having another player cut at the end of the year? We should be playing with a full list of 44 next year, 38 senior players, 2 vets plus 4 rookies.

Put a list of who we would/could have next year and then look at it like that, plus salary cap comes into it as well and I would keep Kellaway ahead of Gaspar.

Yep we have 38 on the primary list (including Gaspar), 1 veteran list (Richardson) and 3 of a possible 5 on the rookie list.

If we keep Howat and move Gaspar to the Vets list. Cut Humm but extend Graham.

We would have 38 (primary) + 2 (vets) + 1 (rookie)

A team has to have a minimum of 3 draft picks. We would therefore have to cut a minimum 1 more player (Stafford and Chaffey retired) under AFL rules.

So realistically we want at least 4 picks and possibly room to trade for someone like Polak. Meaning we'll probably delist 3 players, unless we can include one of our players in a trade.
Hopefully we can trade Rodan to another club and offer to pay part of his salary.

Im hoping we'll be able to have more than 1 rookie next year. The rookie list is becoming a good breeding ground for players, and we're in real danger of falling a long way behind the Adelaide's, West Coast's etc... unless we can use our full rookie quota.

Club has been talking up all season about how we will be able to afford a full rookie list next year.

Glad to hear, as it seems a increasingly important resource to find players.

We've been doing ok out of it the last year or 2, imagine what wemight achieve with a full rookie list.
