He has good disposal, strong overhead, level headed, cool when in possesion of the ball, footy smarts and longegivity (Even though he has had niggling injuries).

Sugar for pick 2 & Torney

Could have kept Torney and picked up Daniel Wells.

Me thinks, lost out on that one.

Edit

Jason not Jasob :)

He wanted to go home.

I think most tigers fans wanted him to stay, but he has spent alot of time on the sidelines with injury the last 3 years. Whereas Johno has played most of the time in those 3 years.

Yeah, agree with Calcium Man. Still love Jason though.. he was such a consistant performer for us.

Glad to see him playing well in the finals.

Go JASON!

We got Jay Schulz out of the trade though, and IMO I think that atm he is better than Wells.

He wasn't offered a contract...would have stayed at Richmond, but Spud didn't want him/think he was worth the money.

He won them the game in the end. That mark he took as well as his 2 or 3 goals. Good game.

We all knew he wanted to go home, but Richmond didnt really show they wanted to keep him...

Ironic that Danny being a defender didnt have the brains to create a team with a solid defence!

Jason Torney's not the only half decent player that Poof Frawley got rid of.

I always thought Torney was let go due to salary cap pressure.

Thats what I read at the time anyway...

He's done very since he has come to us.. Last year he was an integral part of our line up but this year he had a few injuries + so many other people doing so well, he found it tough getting back. Now he is back in the side and is showing what he can do.

I find that hard to believe. I heard Frawley say on the footy show a few years ago that letting Jason Torney leave Richmond was one of his biggest regrets as a coach. By the sounds of it, Frawley didn't have much choice, Torney was going home and nothing could be done to change his mind.

Great call we dont need Wells anyway with the boys we got Wells is probably the most overrated player in the comp Jay is much better Value for us now Staff has gone and Richo nearing the end of his career and Johno has been good for us to and a good captain. But its good to see Jason do well over at adelaide had a great game yesterday and took some of the best marks i have seen this year. Good Luck Jason for the rest of the year.

um, knowing jas personally, that is total tripe. he wanted to go home for a reason that was not footy based.

Torney was playing only as a HBFer for us. We kept putting the challenge on him to become a midfielder and he couldn't. In the backline he wouldn't run. Just kept chipping sideways. He had no self-confidence or belief despite coaches trying to pump him up and convince him he could be a top player.

We didn't think he was worth a new deal at the level of cash he would require.

It is a hell of a lot easier being a role-player in a very good team like Adelaide.

Wasn't a bad decision. Johnson has been good for us and his presence let Coughlan play some of his best football. Having another HBF like Torney would hardly have made us any better.

Dont know whats wrong with me these days Weaver, but l continue to agree with you at the moment.

Torney, as much l loved his commitment and courage, was no different really (my opinion only) than Andy Kellaway. His name made our defence looked tighter, but only with the players he had around him. Was never going to be the first one picked in our backline or midfield.

As much as l think Johnno hasnt been what l expect him to have done, he is our Captain and one of the first players picked in our whole side.
