This time last year in the pre-season cup, you guys gace us a 79-point thrashing.
Are you confident you can repeat the dose one year later?

It's always very hard to judge the first game of the year - especially the pre season comp.
Mark Williams says they will be putting the best side on the park with only 2-3 places up for grabs although I'm sure a few newbies will be tested during the cup.
I'm quite confident we'll be an even better side in 2002 and being at Footy Park I reckon we'll get away with a win first up - anything from 1 point to 100 will do me......:D
Will be quite interested to see the team lists for the game........and looking forward to seeing Hardwick line up against his old team mates.........

should be a good game (and I get to go....yay !).
Both clubs play to win regardless of the comp so standard should be high.
I can't see the bombers getting up though.
Although I expect Port to play competitively I am not one who puts a lot of weight on the pre-season comp....win or lose....at least until the GF....in the GF both clubs have a go.

We've never been great travellers interstate. Our good record outside the Victorian border is more due to the fact that we have been a good team, rather than us being good travellers.
We will be keen to get some pride back after last years disaster, but realistically Port should win. I think we will push you hard however, and an upset is not out of the question.

Who knows...who really cares. If we win we win, if we dont we dont. Nothing to get excited over until Round 1. I do hope we kick arse tho :D

Your effort in the night comp in 2001 foreshadowed your success in the 2001 season proper, so don't write it off as not counting. It's a premiership, and it's something to win which adds to the history of the club.

It was good to win it just to get that premiership winning feeling again at the club...even if it was a 'plastic trophy'
