Several years ago I recall seeing a hard cover coffee-table style book produced for Fitzroy's centenary circa 1984 which set out the history of the club in glorious detail. Can anyone tell me the name of it and some indication of where I might be able to find a copy? Failing that, has anyone else put together a similar effort since?

The book was called "The First Hundred Seasons". It was by Mike Sutherland, Rod Nicholson & Stewart Murrihy & was published by Fitzroy Football Club in 1983. I doubt whether you'll be able to find a copy now.

No other Fitzroy books have come close to it yet.

The hard cover copy was limited to 150 and went on auction at the Heidleberg Town Hall at the Guernsey Presentation in 1983. All copies were autographed by Quinlan, Walls, Stephen, Smallhorn, Wilson, Perc Mitchell, Bulldog Murray and Ruthven.

We actually bought ($150) one on the night and my wife was offered Gary Wilson's autographed jumper as an enticement, but because Hinchy was here favourite opted for his autographed jumper.
Anyway they actually released a soft cover version and reprinted it again in 1990, so maybe contact the publishers, I haven't got the address, well mainly becuase i'm in the Uk, FP might have it.

My mum has a copy, and is sending it up to me next week (I had forgotten all about that book).

I will post who the publisher was when I get the book.

Arrrgh! I got jboyar's email on Friday.

Too late, too late will be the cry when the man with the bargains has passed you by.

Actually I'm probably fortunate I wasn't bidding against Levo. He's got pounds in his pocket. You can't argue with that.

The search goes on.

I was bidding for it by phone, but wasn't prepared to go above $150.

Levo, with his dirty Pommy lucre beat me to the punch!!!

Come on rabs68 it sold for $150 in 1983 and that was bloody expensive then, I actually put in my first bid at £100 ($290), but as they all renegged I got it for £68.
Bloody bargain me thinks, brought some goodens off E-bay also lately, picture of Brunny Street for £15 from Cam Doyle (former Collingwood magoos Player, who actually tried out at Fitzroy).
Autographed 1976 Fitzroy Football very expensive, but worth it.

I saw another copy of the book listed for sale on an auction site with a $250 price tag.

It seems that the memorabilia sales are still are good as ever.
