Claremont beat East Freo by 10 points and East Perth smashed Peel Thunder.

More scouts than you could poke a stick at watched on.

Claremont players McKenzie and Hill were outstanding. Morton played on a wing for a considerable time and went OK. Benjamin looked troubled by a leg injury. Krakouer spent mopre time midfield and used his pace but still doesn't contribute often enough for me.

For East Freo Mc Namara had a shocker and Venturini didn't live up to hype. Nugent was great and might have played his way into calculations again. Brad D1ck was flashy and showed something. Little indigenous rover / forward Kane Little kicked 6 goals.

Any info re the East Perth / Peel draft hopefuls?

Thanks for that, great post.
Who did Mckenzie play on? Obviously he won the duel but i would have thought if he lined up on Dominic Foster then that would have been a good match up. I still think East Freo lack a dominant forward player which will kill them in the finals...got a great midfield but when playing against the moss-colbung engine and against the quality talls at claremont i think they will be out of the race next week.
Puzzles me why Morton plays on a wing. His height and athleticism is a must at CHF i believe.

Mckenzie was allowed to roam pretty free. Dom Foster didn't play and may not play again this year - shoulder in the last game of year. Agree that EF need a tall forward and may use Nugent there when resting. Hooker is giving them somthing at CHF but is also needed in ruck. Williamson needs to lift. Capable player.
The on ball power of the big three - Leuenberger, Moss and Colbung will take some stopping. Royals to start favourites but Sharks have been resolute and should be a good game.

Morton used on a wing was interesting. He is a good player and showed that he can be versatile. Recruiters must love what they see in this bloke.

Absolutely BFTW. I wish WCE could still take him F/S.

Still a chance for our 2nd pick I would think.

BTW, I could have sworn Morton had about 10 Inside 50's, but obviously I was wrong according to those stats. I only saw 3 qtrs too!

Colts stats are not always accurate. I also thought he drove it in plenty of times.

When he's at CHF he looks like a mini Dermot Brereton. Not sure if he will ever be KPP at AFL but I see some Embley in him - able to trouble shoot at CHF, be a tough match up on a flank, run though the midfield with good marking and disposal skills. Just needs to work on endurance which will come being t an AFL club.

Classic case of stats and what they really mean. Ask Macca what he thought of his game. The guy is a beauty and believe me will get drafted but his game was a shocker based on his use of the footy. I saw the game and have reviewed the tape.

I know that on Monday, I will be posting just how good he played in the Prelim because he has too much talent and determination to play 2 baddies in a row.

Mid fielder sweeper in colts but played half back and as a tagger in the Nationals. Did a good job on Gibbs on Day 3. Plays taller than his 184 and is exceptional judge overhead. Hard working with a body that is responding to and will continue to respond to a strength and conditioning programme.

At AFL will be a half back and develop into a defensive midfielder - Selwood at Eagles style. Expect to go in second half of the draft so no particular club sticks out.
