Collingwood don't have the players that will win them a finals game, let alone a premiership, as demonstrated today.
The best thing they can do is get some draft picks and start again because that's the only way they will be anything. Carlton have realised that and it will start to pay off in 2007 and onwards for us.
About time Collingwood swallowed their pride and realise that the list they have is average at best.

eddiesmith != the entire collingwood supporter base. Let's be clear. The umpires had some shocking decisions BOTH ways, especially in the first quarter, and did not influence the outcome of the match. Let me repeat that for the terminally dim amongst you *coughdees4lifecough*: The umpires did not influence the outcome of the match.
I see plenty of analysis of what we did wrong in that second linked topic, no excuses.
Apparently, "we need some fast midfielders", "Did anyone tell Mick the Bulldogs have pace?", "Malthouse was outcoached today", "the perfermance today was terrible" "we got smashed in the clearances", "we did not take chances", "tackling was woeful", "the doggies were fantastic", etc., which all seem like pretty frank admissions of the flaws we displayed in today's game to me, seem like comments any team's forum would have bandied about after a similar loss, they're all "excuses". Apparently saying that your team lost because it played badly is nowadays an example of attempting to deflect the fact that your team lost because it played badly.

Specifics as to what the Bulldogs did better than us (pace, midfield, clearances, tactics) can be found on the thread above that is currently being offered as supposedly deflective "excuses".
I still fail to see any evidence that the general view of the Collingwood supporters on BigFooty is anything but. Or has been anything but after any of our more disappointing losses. Every single "Collingwood Excuses Thread" has ended in the fact that Collingwood supporters by and large are not offering excuses, except for the occasional nong like eddiesmith.
By the way, congrats on your last 20 posts being 85% about Collingwood.*
