View Full Version : Was this week the most enjoyable set of finals results in the past 10 years?
I think so. Both Freagles sides went down. Even the Weagles went down at home despite 4 hometown free kick goals. And the Pies leg speed and talent limitations met reality today, in an enjoyable , although predictable outcome, exposing this years relentless Collingwood media overhype hoax for what it really was. Great results all round for the broader footy public. :)

Yep, Carlton not in the finals yet again.

Only bad result was the Dees beating St Kilda. It was good to see everyone shut-up about a possible WA prelim derby and the Wobblers lost to the Doggies.

What were your thoughts on the Saints going down parrot?
What were your thoughts on the Saints going down parrot?
Well, pretty much neutral actually RJ. The Dees played a sensational game, and the Saints were very good early. Was impressed with the intensity the Dees played with, which ain't their strong point. It's just a shame both teams couldn't still be in contention. The Saints ongoing problem is of course GT, who just has no tactical idea in these big games. They should have moved this guy on about 2 years ago - too late now. I think the Saints window of opportunity has now firmly snapped shut, and a mini slide is imminent. The Pies however revealed themselves as probably the lowest talent team to reach a finals series this century. Quite amazed at this years ridiculous circulation driven media overhype of the Pies pretty ordinary list. Pies fans got a little taste of reality yesterday. The Pies midfield is a real issue - aging, lack of leg speed and low on talent. The infamous handbreakers were also on display again yesterday- Didak, Shaw. Old habits remain. The Pies need a solid cleanout and rebuild. Very similar to the current Essendon list IMO. Quite funny how my detailed Collingwood list analysis a few weeks back, that got so many of the mods here upset, turned out to be 100% correct. Oh well. :)

It was an great weekend Parrot, plus the Bullants winning on the weekend and Setanta's great form for the Ants.
It has been an wonderful end of an horrid week for Carlton fans

I wouldn't go that far. Although my assessments of Setanta, the Eagles, Saints and Pies have been proven to be 100% correct, to be honest these insights were hardly revelations. It's just that the current media climate is big on circulation inspired fabrications rather than fact. So there was a big gulf between what the media wanted us to believe and reality. I just call it as it is, based on what actually takes place on the footy field. Got me into trouble with many mods though. Oh well, can't please everyone. I believe things go through cycles, and one day BF will revert to honest open opinion again, free of any censorship, even if it grates against the media orthodox. :)

Watching Collingwood lose another final against anyone. Eddie, Mick and Nathan in tears and the Collingwood cheersquad with 1 mouthful of teeth and half a brain between them talking about what could've been...priceless
