Judd has more skills and overally ability but Brown will be able to have a bigger impact when at his peak. The problem is that that peak isn't reached as often as it should be due to injuries and inconsistancy (but he his improving dramatically on that so mainly injuries) so I selected Judd.

Hard to compare as they are both good in their own ways.
Imagine them both in the same team! S***

Judd is the better player, but J. Brown is more important to the team. Since the poll asks who is better, I voted Judd.

Brown? Brown has to get past Pavlich, Hall, Tredrea and Riewoldt before he can touch Chris Judd

J.Brown when both are at their best but Judd does it a lot more often.

Both can turn a game and inspire their team mates but Judd can do it without getting injured or suspended (as often)

Both champions, but Judd because he actually plays the majority of a season.

His record (individually) isn't in the same class as Hall.

Love how you threw Tredrea in there along the greats like Pav and Hall.

You are a disagrace.

pffft take a look in the mirror you piece of poo, to say that Tredrea is not a great but Hall and Pavlich are is absurd, theyre all champions

Brown's the one of the bunch who's yet to capatalise on 'potential', thats all im saying

Judd has a brownlow. Enough said.

Whilst I don't argue that Judd is the better player to date based on what they have consistently done on the field (and that's all you can go on), by your logic Woewodin would win a poll against Matthews, Carey, Ablett and countless others I could name at the drop of a hat.

This is extremely "wooly thinking" but good for you, you'll fit in well on these boards.....

What a stupid poll.

Judd is a multiple AA, Brownlow medal and Norm Smith winner. He's dominated multiple seasons and is a consistent player who regularly dominates strings of games. He also gets in the "best players on the ground" in finals.

Brown hasn't done any of these (yet), and his performances to date have not lived up to the overinflated hype he gets from the media and from people on this board. He is incredibly overrated - that is, until he can actually match what people say about him (best i nthe league, best CHF, etc etc).

Tredrea, Hall, Pavlich, Riewoldt > Brown if you are talking about their careers and what accolandes thay have won to actually show how consistent they are.

Brown is a great CHF, he has the potential to be better but so far the hype doesn't match what he's done so far.

Exactly.

Tredrea, Hall, etc have stamped their authority on the football world by being consistent enough to dominate a year or more. Until Brown can actually do this himself he's not in their league IMO unless you bring up the word "potential".

and so does Dipper, what's ya point?
Leigh Matthews never won one. Don't get me wrong, Judd is a champ but don't use winning a Brownlow to back your claim.

And Woewodin.

I rate players based on their dominance. Whoever has had more dominant years in their respective positions have had the better careers and if still maintaining it are currently better players.

That's why I picked Judd.

At their best, Brown is the more influential. Both unbelievable players, but I would take Judd. We just don't seem to see Brown at his best on a consistent basis, entirely different for Judd.

Also, for Carlton's needs, Judd easily. Our forward line is just fine, while our midfield needs work. Imagine Murphy, Simpson, Walker, Gibbs and Judd in the same midfield? *drools*

You keep your Dirty hands of him please,
Judd is just where he belongs;)

if you want to talk about influence on a game then have a look at Judd's last 5 finals

either BOG or very close to it

Brown has never kicked over 40 goals in a season which I would think would be quite important for a Star key forward

needs to do it on a regular basis before I would compare him to the other key forwards or even Judd

At Geelong, I'd take Brown in a second. Horses for courses.
