To cryptic for me bro, what are you saying?
Just announced on SEN that Aker has asked Brisbane to try to negotiate a trade with the Bulldogs.
Hopefully this can be a straight swap between the 2 so we don't have big deals holding up the smaller ones like we have in the past 2 years.
aker will be off to the bulldogs. he has turned down must larger and more lucrative deals from the magpies. he has nominated the bulldogs cos he thinks they are the next team in melbourne on the rise for a flag.
the trade will be:
brisbane get: sam power, wade skipper and prob wither a 1st round or second round pick
bulldogs get: akermanis

I'm sure Mathews would sign that deal right now if the bullies were stupid enough to offer that.
I would think Power (assuming the lions are as keen on him as most seem to think ) with the bullies second pick or Power and another player, no picks
the reason that is the most likely deal is cos sam power wants to go play with his brother in brisbane and skipper is a younger awkward developing ruckman who will replace keating. the pick is only to spruce the trade deal up a bit if brisbane still thinks its not an attractive deal

Rocket has already said the Bulldogs "Will not sell their soul for Aker"...
That means, they will only probably offer Sam Power and thats it. The first round pick will not be in any deal. Guaranteed..
Could Tom Williams be the wildcard in this deal?;)

i think he would have to come to the table with a little more than that champ. i would believe power and skipper, unrealistic to think they would get a 1st round pick as well

If Acker is wanting to go to the Bulldogs, and cards are played well Brisbane will not be handing the ACE. The Bulldogs will.
I doubt there will be any soul selling by the Bullies.
Sam Power will be all is required.
The choice for the Lions is to keep paying Acker. He is contracted. they need to the salary cap

Are you out of your mind?
It will be a straight swap, Aker for Power.
We won't be giving up draft picks.

It certainly won't be what mulley was suggesting, but i think you will need to give more than just Sam Power.
If you did get him for that, it would be a great trade for the doggies

Power has come of age in the later part of this season, he'd be a great addition to Brisbane.
They can have Skipper, he's a hack.

everyone seems to think this is a cert, but the Sam Power I was talking to before the Collingwood game might not want to go. they have a very special culture at the doggies.

yeah why would sam power want to go to brisbane
i bust my arse here for the doggies and they start showing something
oh ok i will go to a struggling team so you can get aker and enjoy your success
the only way it will happen is if they sack power and then trade him
but brisbane would want alot more the power for aker
if another team comes in with a better deal aker could be heading there
Tony Lockett wanted to play at richmond when he left saints
st kilda wanted a young campbell and richardson for him
tigers told them get stuffed and he became a swan
so just coz aker says that where he wants it is only half the battle

I can't see ANYONE wanting to leave the doggies at the moment, to join a brother or otherwise. I'm sure the trade will happen, but someone's heart is gonna have to get broken.

i agree. sam power does not want to go to brisbane. its not like he is from there. remember luke power was leaving to come back to melbourne. why would sam want to go up there? W/B cant make sam go play up there, the player has to agree to go to that club. If it was up to the club where the player goes aker would be going for the best possible deal
that is a true point sam has to agree as well ! thats 4 parties to agree or aka stays a lion or we look to deal with the bombers or pies or whoever ! this is nowhere near a done deal dogs ! the lions are not a charity if the deal dont fit it wont happen !

No chance. Potential KP champion with 10 years left vs 1-3 years for another midfielder/forward.
Don't get me wrong, Aker will be good, but trading Williams would be "selling their soul" like Rocket was talking about.

Rubbish. How many AFLQ games have you seen him play? He will be a good ordinary player - he wont be a champion.
And please bulldog fans, don't feel hard done with a Power-Aker swap, that is robbing us blind. It would be like you trading Brad Johnson or Scott West for Matt Moody. Aker has been a champion player and one of the best midfielders in the last 10 years. He is super fit and keen to play for another 4 or 5 years. Power would struggle to make your fully fit side. Power could play for another 15 years, but his impact will not be any thing like what Aker still has to offer.

as a bulldogs supporter, i have to agree with the above post. Except for the Moody - West/Johnson swap.. i wouldnt go that far.
Aker is definately a champion play and i believe still would be.
The bulldogs should at least give up thier 2nd round pick and a player. Brisbane should take Wayde Skipper although he is a hack, quite simply.
There are a few players on the bulldogs list, that are relatively young and have played a couple of games. I think they also showed some potential
(Brad Murphy and Cameron Faulkner come to mind)

I'm trying to show how lucky you guys would be if the Power-Aker trade was successful. I agree that West/Johnson-Moody trade would never happen, but is it really that different to Aker-Power? Take West for example: Aker is 29 and West is 31. Both are champion players with Aker winning games off his own boot, as well as owning 3 premiership medallions and a Brownlow. West has had an outstanding year this year, and Aker is the reigning lions B&F after his best season in 2005. Due to obvious circumstances, his impact this year is slightly less. Moody is probably close to our fully-fit starting 22, as is Sam Power for the dogs.
Aker has a couple of years on his side, and West has the better form. So why is the Moody-West trade so different to a Aker-Power straight swap?
Aker has the potential to draw in massive sponsorship offers as well.
Hopefully this can be a straight swap between the 2 so we don't have big deals holding up the smaller ones like we have in the past 2 years.
Doesnt look good with Brisbane saying that nothing is finalised and probably wont be until the last day of trading.

I think the Bullies are going to rue the day they tempted Aker. They need bigger blokes and should be looking at snaring someone with their Rd 1 pick.
Dont they realise they wont win the prem without one.

Unless someone offers better , Bulldogs 2nd rounder will be pick 28 ?? , when push comes to shove Bombers might offer 2nd rounder + Dempsey , Aints might offer 1st rounder + Voss to try and get flag , Demons might offer 2nd rounder + Miller .
Doubtful any of the interstaters will make an offer but I can't see Bulldogs being able to get a deal done on their terms and definitely not with their first offer.

All academic if Aker says no to the trade. If Aker says Bulldogs or nowhere, then Brisbane have to pay him to sit in the stands next year.

People need to get it out of the heads that Essendon would offer Dempsey, we would not.

We won't be giving up draft picks. No chance they will go for a straight swap and if they did they would be the ones selling their souls, Sam Power isn't in the same league as Aka and i know ur gonna say the age factor but it still wouldn't b a fair swap for Brissy, i think u will have to part with ur 2nd round pick aswell.

You think Aker wants to sit in the stands next year? The guy is a natural born competitor, his career is on the line here too. He cant afford to get cute here.

Plus remember who we are talking about , he changes his mind every second day .
Other clubs are not going to make an offer to Aker without speaking to his management and you can bet his manager isn't telling them its a done deal with the Dogs .
For the supporters who state Aker is worth only a second or third round pick , have you any idea , you will be supprting that club in 3/4 years so want to see draft picks turn into players . However Coaches, Presidents and club CEO's who don't win on the field don't last 3/4 years .
As I have stated previously the bidding has only just begun .
